[Blog] Beholders of Blackmoor

I would describe them to be, not spheres, but ovoid. Wink Also I would delete their eyestalks--just have egg-shaped, hovering orbs with eyes all over the surface, perhaps like Beljoxa's Eye from S7 of Buffy:

EDIT: I can see a number of these as sentinels encircling the Egg of Coot's domain: anyone who wishes to enter must answer questions which are then telepathically transmitted somehow to the Egg's chamber deep in the earth. If any questions are not fully answered, several balrogs are teleported to that location to deal with unwanted intruders. Confusedhock: However, as they are imprisoned in those spherical cages, the implication would be that they have been enslaved to serve the Egg (like other races) and, if the party would be able to free one, then it may thereupon aid them. Could be a cool addition to the party!
