Noble Houses of Blackmoor (Updated)
#21
Some thoughts on locating some of these anchorless houses:

House Braveen in Ep 41 has an estate on Blackmoor bay. Since there is not a whole lot of land between the Glendower and Blackmoor baronies, I suppose the Braveen Barony must cover the "northern downs" and old north watchtower.

The Arthouse dagger was found in Jackport, since Jackport doesn't seem to have any other noble house, I'd suggest listing Jackport as the seat of the Arthous Barony.

Vestfold: According to the FFC Ra-all was promoted to "king of Vestfold", assuming Ra-all was an Andahar, Vestfold could be added to thier seat of power. Vestfold is kind of oddly left out otherwise.

Nice additions! The only one I am not so sure about is Jackport. Should that place really have a noble house, or should it just be a renegade haven of pirates?

I think the FFC refers to Ra-all as Duke of Vestfold, though Dave might have used the title "King" elsewhere? In any case I agree that Ra-All is most likely an Andahar. In the FFC era it would certainly be the hold of the Andahar family. In the d20 era though, Vestfold is the seat of the Regency Council so maybe it makes more sense to make it "neutral ground"?

I just spotted this in MMRPG Episode 66:
Quote:One of our guests, Kristopher Caldeel, was poisoned during dinner. Kristopher is a noble from the city of Blackmoor who is visiting the city.
Sounds like we have also a House Caldeel from Blackmoor Wink
He's a real Nowhere man, sitting in his Nowhere land,
making all his Nowhere plans for Nobody.

Nice find!

If I was the editor, I would have made them change the name to Sir* Kristopher of Caldeel.

Unless Caldeel isn't the family name?

*=Or replace with higher title if appropriate

I think this points to a lesser noble house.
He's a real Nowhere man, sitting in his Nowhere land,
making all his Nowhere plans for Nobody.

There is a noble house (most likely lesser as well) in Episode 42 as well:
Quote:“Allow me to introduce myself,” says the noble, “I am Adjutant judge Farlon Hightower and I am the noble born benefactor of this village.
He's a real Nowhere man, sitting in his Nowhere land,
making all his Nowhere plans for Nobody.

Yeah, I agree. Sir Kristopher of Caldeel of House Caldeel (MMRPG Episode 66) is of the lesser house Caldeel with lands near Blackmoor.

Hightower should be another lesser house then!

Adjutant Judge is an interesting title.

What village is he referring to?

Thanks. I am not sure we can consider Anathema the stronghold of the Hightower family though? I am leaning towards making them a Thonian Noble House...

Well... the nobleman in Episode 42 seems quite weak and inept... Not sure if Anathema as a stronghold for Hightower family is half-decently strong... perhaps his family has the real stronghold somewhere else and Farlon Hightower is a minor representative of a minor family, or the noble family is not that powerful.
