Rakasta of Blackmoor
#1
This article (scroll down to see the map!) gives us a good overview of the Rakasta shortly after the Blackmoor Era. The fact that the Wilderlands campaign also has a large variety of Catfolk races makes this even more interesting to explore.

According to fan work, the main Rakasta breeds that would likely have been around on Skothar back then would have been:

Pardasta
Cloud Pardasta
Sherkasta
Snow Pardasta
Lynxmen

Of these, Lynxmen seem most likely to have had contact with the people of Blackmoor. Any thoughts? I toyed with the idea of introducing them to the Tales from the Vales campaign, but there hasnt been much room for that yet.

This excellent article also uses elements of (possibly) Sherkasta activity in the Wilderlands region of Karakh.

Any thought?

The Wilderlands of High Fantasy introduces the following Cat-like races:
  • Liowan: Lion-men resembling Mystara's Simbasta. Found in Ghinor.
  • Neamua: Similar to common Rakasta.
  • Tiger-Men are also mentioned in fanon sources. Similar to Sherekasta. Found in Ghinor, and Kharak.

I am actually thinking of making the Tanogoro as Simbasta, rather than humans.

My upcoming Thonia sourcebook on Bolgerie will have both Catfolk and Tanogoro like humans. It will also feature some unique gatorfolk
