Dragonlord Trilogy and Rafe's Campaign

In this thread, Rafe delved on the Dragonlord Trilogy, a novel series by Thorarinn Gunnarson set in Mystara, but also referencing Blackmoor a bit:

Way ahead of you actually. I have several documents on my laptop on this topic dating a few years back.

For the record, City of the Dragonfather is an LFC term. In the FFC, the place is called the City of Father Dragon. But it is indeed one of the legendary locations from the Blackmoor Campaign.

Any possible sequels of "The Promised Land" would likely deal with this.

Before you fret, yes, discuss that as you will - there is no possible, conceivable way that the party will IC ever know or reach the city, if simply because they don't know about it, and have other things to do.

If you are suggesting that the City of Father Dragon is on the moon, then that is an interesting choice, but I lean more towards the idea of the Dragon Isle as being its location and having that somewhere to the east of Blackmoor.

For the record, 3000 BC is 1000 years into the future of Dave Arneson's Blackmoor.

And while I am on it, now completely hijacking the thread, in one sentence, a sequel to The Promised Land would focus on an expedition to the City of the Dragonfather, the Dragonlord of Mystara novels, and a "The New Shadow", a short story fragment by Tolkien, which in itself would have been the base for a sequel to "The Lord of the Rings".

In that vein, it's so easy to create a link between WL's Dragonkings, the Dragonfather, and the Dragonlords.

Yes and no. What I have is the following:
1) Father Dragon from the FFC is Insellageth from the DAB Sourcebook.
2) Insellageth is the Dragon God known in Mystara Sources as the Great One, or the Great Dragon.

In the Mystara novels, The Dragonlord of Blackmoor, was not a dragon, but a human armed with a special armor and sword, who lead the people of Blackmoor in a crusade against evil dragons. The novels are set in Blackmoor's far future (but still Mystara's past) at a time when a new hero is called to become a second Dragonlord.

I am not entirely sure what the Dragonkings from WL were, but I think they were a race of humanoids who could command and ride Dragons, correct?

There is certainly more to build on here if we are going into the entire conflict that brought the first Dragonlord forward in the first place. I have ideas on that as well, but this will have to wait until later. I do think that the first Dragonlord's armor could be linked either to the Blue Rider, the Dragonknights fromt he D20 CS, or both.

LOLing about "LFC term" - yeah, I read so little about it that I don't even know how it is called.

Which should really be telling about how much I am into the whole trope so far.
