Ok, I can handle pbpbb 2 and 3 pretty easily, having admin'ed the Wayfarer's Inn for a few years.

My main reason why I would strongly urge that we move to pbpbb 3 is that a print option can be installed there, which IMMENSELY facilitates the conservation of older threads.

We should get us that. Apart from it, the boards do not really need any improvement.

Oh, one more thing: Can we LOCK the bbpress board?

I tried, but it doesn't seem to work.

The board LOCKED could probably be of interest, since some good content was posted there as well.

The only thing I see is under "Topics" to close each thread... just another inconvenience of bbPress, I guess. I still think bbPress is great for lighter, more open forums. I'll see if I can at least close registration or something...

I think it's probably better if we just copy the threads over using

quotations

and dispose of bbPress

I also am noticing that emails from phpBB2 are nicely threaded instead of coming in with individual ids--which is better too.

Oh by the way, about the whole printing thing... can you show me what you're talking about via a screenshot or PDF? (you can print to PDF on Windows using PDFCreator--but be careful it tries to install the Yahoo toolbar)

I tried doing a print preview on bbPress and it didn't come up nicely for me at all. I think there is a simple way to add CSS for printing which will make all the difference.
