I'd love to hear (er... read) more about your kids' campaign -- what system are you using to "power" the game? I'm going to assume it is set in Blackmoor -- was that by your design, or your kids' choice?

Which Blackmoor is your Blackmoor -- there are so many iterations to choose from: Supplement II/Judge's Guild First Fantasy Campaign standalone, DA-series 'Mystara's Past,' 3rd and 4th editions' licenses of the setting (Dave Arneson's Blackmoor hardcovers).

It'd be especially interesting to hear how you've mashed things up, if you've cobbled bits and pieces together from all the various iterations.

We've been going old school, basic set rules. They've gone through the Comeback Inn and are about to find there's robots in the City of the Gods lol.

When they get done with Blackmoor, I'm going to have the Inn take them further in the future, to a 2nd Edition Mystara with Spelljammers to take them to other settings.

I was having some trouble getting a post here. It kept denying me and so I saved it as a draft, which is now lost.

First to say that I have lurked on and off for years. I find myself mostly a Greyhawk aficionado. For me this includes Blackmoor. I see Greyhawk as a multi-campaign setting, which is far too large to run a single campaign within and hope to go most everywhere. Quite similar to how the Forgotten Realms attempted to do this later.

On the other hand I find Blackmoor to be a perfect campaign size. I like to redraw maps and don't particularly hold to published works or canon on that score. I like a high adventure Blackmoor in colder temperatures.
