Tracy's HackMoor Campaign 2015/11/10
#1
This time my group had a medium sausage pizza. I wasn't hungry so I abstained.

Games are on Tuesdays sometime around 5:30PM at World's Best Comics, 9714 Warwick Blvd Newport News, Virginia 23601.

++++ START OF SESSION ++++

This session was mostly a maintenance session for characters because had leveled up and continued to do so from last week.

Having completed his monastery, Huang was awarded his followers 8 first level Monks of his order, actually 6 Monks and 2 Monkettes. (They are listed in the NPC section at the bottom this missive.)
Huang then appointed Honda as Steward (or "Jito" in Samurai jargon) of Catan (formerly Temple of the Frog). She gained 10 men-at-arms and 10 first level Samurai in her employ to police the area. (These have yet to be named.)

Only Numrendir remained to level up and he needed to sail down the Root River to the University of Blackmoor to matriculate with the Magic Department. They opted not to take the canal shortcut between Bloody Lake and Trog Lake built in an earlier campaign. Instead they took the Root River.

Leaving Honda and her entourage behind, and Huang taking his new followers, they only had one encounter which was a Djinni who claimed the waterway as his toll road, having been offered the position by the Iron Duke. (Of the Empire, which lays claim to Blackmoor.) He said they could bypass the toll if they beat them in a contest.

As the party got their battle skills ready, they asked "What's the contest?"

"Craps." said the Djinn. I'll even let you roll first.

Their first roll was a 9, the second roll was an 8. So they did not make their point.

Then the Djinn rolled an 11 and won immediately.

"So how much is the toll?" they asked.

"Ten gold for the ship and one gold per person, including crew." he replied.

So they forked up the gold and went on their way.

Upon arrival in Blackmoor, Numrendir attended his eight weeks of school and rose to a level nine Conjuror. (Lots of die rolling and character maintenance which won't be repeated here.)

Long time has passed since when I could afford spending one full session just doing character maintenance every now and then... now I play so rarely that I need to make the most of the few occasions, so they are mostly one-shot adventures with quick and easy RPG systems: no more D&D, Pathfinder, Warhammer RPG and any other playing system that is too complex, has a character creation system that requires more than 5 minutes topps and no more systems with levelling ups...
I suppose that depending on your situations, in time you change from a game system to another...

You're welcome.

HackMaster is, well, what it is. Raising levels can be an adventure in itself.
