Book 1: Gaining Levels
#1
What are the benefits of gaining levels?

1. +1% at attacks per level
2. +1 Status per level. (p 56) -- Warriors only?
3 increased magic points

If someone could explain the XP system in layman's terms that would also be very helpful! Smile

It's not just +1% to hit it's also -1% to be hit. Still, that doesn't seem like much.

From my reading of the rule, you get one level per XP point but you're often getting tiny fractions of an XP each time. However, it seems that if you kill a monster that's just as good as you then you go up a level.

True its not alot, but with frequent levelling it seems like the standard level range is going to be closer to 1-100 than 1 -20 as in D&D.

The main benefit from gaining levels though seems to be the chance of increasing your social status.

The game really forces us to think differently than we do with D&D. Quite interesting! Smile

I have to admit the leveling rules have me completely confused....
I sporadically blog (mostly) about role-playing topics at The Semi-Retired Gamer.

Currently reading Dave Arneson's True Genius by Robert J. Kuntz.

Since you are dividing your XP by the ratio of level/HD and HD rarely go over 8 in the monster section, it seem you'll max out pretty quickly after that.

Hmmm...I didnt think about that.

OTOH I seem to recall the Wizard Al-Haza being a 66th level Law Sorcerer. I guess getting there would be quite a challenge then! Smile
