I'm going to chime in to say that I also have a couple openings in a PbP going here, set in Blackmoor's future. PM me if you'd like more details.

And this http://blackmoor.mystara.net/forums/viewforum.php?f=82 is another option, set in Blackmoor a few years after the departure of Uther Andahar!
I'm planning to start in early February.
He's a real Nowhere man, sitting in his Nowhere land,
making all his Nowhere plans for Nobody.

The Vales Campaign is close to filling up. If you have not yet been in contact with me, but is interested in playing, I recommend checking out the other two campaigns mentioned in this thread! Smile

I still have an opening for the Throne of Stars campaign. This is a science fantasy mash up set 1,000 years after Uther's reign.

It is run using TSR's Alternity Science Fiction role playing system, which is out of print. Fortunately, the main mechanics are outlined in a free and downloadable Fast Play document.

Some have called it the predecessor to the d20 system. I've actually found the game's core mechanic to be somewhat similar to that of the old Top Secret/S.I. (But don't let that scare you away from the system! Confusedhock: )

It boils down to a point-buy, skill-based roll-under system, with greater tiers of success the lower you roll. But I try to stick to the Rule 0 of the system: Not everything needs a die roll.

There are "classes"... but only in the very loosest of terms -- it's only a framework for the concept of the hero you want to play: any hero can buy any skill. Yes, a wizard can use a sword. Or a plasma rifle. Wink

There are "levels"... but only in the loosest of terms -- the system's version of "experience points" turn into skill points: cash 'em in to buy new skills, improve those you've already bought, or save up for Achievements.

You can find the Fast Play rules in Sci Fi and modern day/near future flavors.

If you haven't already looked over the Throne of Stars stuff, here is a brief blurb on what's changed from "mainline" Blackmoor of the FFC/DA-series.

Here is the initial pitch for the campaign.

And here is the kicker, that started it all.
