Penalties for Armor in Junge/Desert Environments?

Given the recent topic of the Jungle Realm, which penalties would you consider for PCs insisting on walking around in such environments with leather or metal armor?

For the desert environment I remember that this is covered in the Ylaruam Gazzetteer... that I don't have close to my hands at the moment...
