Tracy's HackMoor Campaign 2013/01/15

Due to recent illness (myself), one of the players got into a car accident and is recuperating, the game has been on hold for almost a month. In keeping with my original post, I'm going to backtrack in time some of my earlier summaries. Hence the subject line will contain the play date in case anyone needs to sort it:

This week started with cleaning up the debris from the battle with the two dragons and their riders outside the forest. Conveniently, Snizzlephish showed up just in time from his to declare "dibs" on a claim he made months earlier and Weasel also came back from his extra dimensional happy place.

With Sticky Fingers and one dragon dead, Rahl escaped on the other dragon. Time was of the essence, as Rahl could reappear at any time.

First item on the agenda was to divvy up Sticky Fingers' equipment and divide only what she was carrying. Items in her 'lair' would stay unclaimed (she was Rah's partner anyway). An 'Identify' spell was cast on personal effects to see what was worth saving. Before final resolution, saving throws were also made for items on all the dead to see what (if anything) survived Dragon's breath.

With only three Player Characters remaining It was agreed the survivors should teleport back to Blackmoor and recoup their losses. Snizzlephish stayed behind to investigate the next major city down the road. He also drained as much Dragon blood for quick resale as he could before they departed.

Once the party was back in Blackmoor it appeared that Willis (the alien Computer Scientist) had been hard at work. Copper wiring had been strung all about the castle grounds and various highly paid Elven employees were set up in along rows of bicycles serially connected with insulated copper wires, the purpose of which the party could not fathom.

The legal question came up regarding the Huang and Honda's estate. They had not bequeathed anything to a successor. But as it happens in real life, the next of kin (Honda's Sister), showed up and lay claim to it. She even obtained a lawyer from Weasel Inc. The players proposed selling off their assets to simply make the Sister happy enough to go away.

There was even an attempt for D'Vine to make a claim on the estate, but I judged she was unaware of current events, being too busy running her popular business ("D'Vine's Tree Hugging Paradise and Theme Park")*, and giving Lamaze classes to her sidekick Mysery Reigns.

At about this time, a GM's card was played on Elefus, giving him TWO alignment infraction points. While normally this is not devastating in itself, Elefus was already dancing on the borderline between Lawful Good and Lawful Neutral, pushing him over the edge and out of his gawd's favor and out of being a Cleric. At this point an Angel appeared from his gawd's Internal Review Service (I.R.S.), forcing an Alignment "Audit".

First all the players were called to testify about all of Elefus' deeds past and present whether for good or evil. The Angel even teleported Snizzlephish (from wherever he was) to testify. Next the dead were called to bear witness also. The details of which are not to be repeated here. Although it was revealed to the party that Numrendir had been dead and left behind in the city of Detroit for the past half-dozen game sessions, but nobody (most of all the supposedly Lawful Good Cleric Elefus), bothered to check his room when they left. Numrendir's body had been left in the care of the Tenian Underground Rebel faction which gave him a proper burial. (Fortunately, as we shall see later, he wasn't cremated.)

Having been found wanting, the I.R.S. Angel gave Elefus 3 choices, 1) Atone for his sins, 2) Give up his +3 Spear of Impalement, or 3) Drink one of Weasel's potions.

Elefus gave up the spear. Before leaving the Angel also cured Elefus' quirk of Enmity Against Angels.

The whole process took about an hour due to all the flying accusations of Elfus misdeeds.

It was reported that NPC Gerry Castagere (who has a crush on Elefus) was heard whispering to herself about how her wonderful it is that Elefus "talks to Angels" (sigh).

Next the party determined to raise the following from the dead which solve a number of problems:

1) Huang (solved the estate problem)

2) Honda (solved the estate problem)

3) Numrendir (won't have to re-roll a new character)

4) Shinzo was not brought back.

The Player for Huang & Honda decided to retire his characters, since he had re-rolled new ones anyway.

Snizzlephish drew an incriminating picture of Elefus and Gerry and slipped it into Elefus' luggage.

Lastly Elefus took a day off and teleported to home base to visit his wife.

* Note: "D'Vine's Tree Hugging Paradise" was formerly a minor storefront Mom and Pop shop. Vestfold was mysteriously destroyed due to Rain of Fire beginning at the Vestfold Magic User Academy, then an Earthquake centered on the former Headquarters of International Exports, Inc., and an attack by a Red Dragon. After this there was plenty of walled wide open space for D'Vine to plant quick growing trees and expand the business to theme park status, with plenty of parking.

- Jallapierie, a Mage, assigned to them by the Royal Blackmoor government.
- Seamus MacLopez, a Tenian Deacon, assigned to them by the Royal Blackmoor government. (The Players don't remember what NPC names I tell them, but for the record, this was a name change.)
- Hieronymous Castagere, a 13th level Fighter and ship's navigator, assigned to them by the Royal Blackmoor government (Captured by Barbarians)
- Gerry Castagere, a Filcher, daughter to the ship's navigator who has fallen in love with Elefus.

Non Participants
