Blackmoor on the Web
#1
Just thought it would be worth starting a collection of web links to where Blackmoor can be found. Old timers probably have all of these places bookmarked, but I thought it would be nice to start a list anyway! Smile

There is a section on my OD&D Discussion board.

There are something like eighty posts about Blackmoor that exist on Dragonsfoot.

Havard's Blackmoor site has all sorts of maps, articles, downloads, and so on.

The Great Svenny has some stories of the "good old days" of Blackmoor.

Blackmoor: Home of the Ancients has some neat stuff as well.

The Acaeum has information about the B/X Dave Arneson Series (DA1 - DA4) of modules published by TSR in the 1980's.

Dave Arneson is on wikipedia! So is Blackmoor!

Robert Kuntz's Pied Piperboards have a section on Blackmoor, although the traffic here seems to have mostly dried up. I know at least Svenny posts here occasionally.

The Human Races of Dave Arneson's Blackmoor is a Conversion For Basic D&D.

ADDED TO THE LIST: 8)

There is a Blackmoor forum at The Piazza which currently has 137 topics and 941 posts.

Great Svenny Page is currently down. There has been talk of relocating it somewhere in assocation with this site. Some of the files are available at blackmoor.mystara.us already.

That is a shame.

I think Blackmoor needs a fansite that is big enough to be able to grab copies of other sites and put up an archive if they go down. Both Beyond the Moons and Dragonlance Nexus do this. I'm not sure how much extra work would be involved, but it is a real shame for sites to vanish from the net, especially one by the Great Svenny. His expertise has got to make one page he writes worth 10-100 pages written by a dabbler like me.

I am afraid that my ISP decided that they didn't want to host sites where the owner maintained his own HTML code for his web pages, so they took down my site. I have not had the time or energy to put it up again somewhere else. Havard has put the most important pages/stories from my site up on his site.

Added it to my list at the top of the thread. Thanks! Big Grin

(I'd like the list to be as complete as possible, naturally!)

I already noticed he was on the Regency Council (which I mistakenly assumed was some sort of A-Team for Blackmoor Wink ).

Have you got a full backup of the original files? If you do then maybe Havard can help find you somewhere else to put them.

If anything is missing the Wayback Machine have an old copy of your website.

No problem.

I only wish there were more websites out there (or maybe bigger websites).
