Tell us about your character!
#1
I have been doing alot of research into the original Blackmoor players and the characters they played. But I know less about the characters that have been rolled up in the later decades. I would love to hear about your characters and their deeds, from any edition, as long as their adventures took place in Blackmoor.

Well, the characters that I have played or run as NPCs in Blackmoor are Rowell, Gawaine, and Mandle,
a rogue with a terribly scared face that died during Episode I of the Grim Winter.

I will eventually detail them in one of my next developer notes, so I gladly lean back for now to listen to other people's stories... Big Grin

Yes, but you have a great character in this campaign. What would this thread be without a presentation of Hrrd Neversung? Smile Note that this thread is posted in the Horseman's Court so not everyone reading this may be familiar with all the details of the merits of the Company of the Maiden.

I will be doing a description of General Harwan later on. Smile

General Harwan of Starmorgan

He wasn't always a General of course. Young Harwan grew up in Newgate. His father died when he was quite young, and the boy was drawn to the legends of the towns own hero ruler, the Great Svenny, as a kind of replacement father figure. His real father was also a fighting man, leaving his son a family heirloom: The Sword Grief, said to have once been the weapon of King Robert's son. This might be the reason why he at a young age joined the Blackmoor Military. Being a disciplined and determined young man, he quickly rose to the rank of Sergeant.

It was while serving as a Sergeant that Harwan first encountered the Company of the Maiden. As Blackmoor's forces attacked the Afridhi occupied Duchy of Ten, Harwan's unit was all but wiped out. Joining forces with the Company of the Maiden, they defeated Toska Rusa and destroyed the Well of Souls, liberating what was left of the Duchy of Ten. In the years that passed, Harwan was promoted General and placed in charge of the New Duchy.

He is now approaching 40 and is of mixed Thonian and Skandaharian stock. The years have placed some heavy burdens on his shoulders, perhaps the reason for his now more confident bearing. Life in the court of the New Duchy has not made him soft however. He has preserved his powerful build and imposing stature. Harwan wears a heavy blue cloak, indicating lordhood, and dons Full Plate Armor when riding into battle.

Note: Harwan is of course the character I play in the Last Fantasy Campaign, DMed by Rafe.

Hmm, I did I write up on James' background when he was created, but there were a few bits that stayed in my mind, to be developed if the opportunities arose. The DM doesn't know about those yet, so I'm wondering whether I should include them or not?

Sure, do.

Actually, it's a fine way for me to see how you all regard your characters, and what directions you want to take. Smile

Whatever you decide, but I am sure the rest of us would be interested in hearing about it Smile

Just a couple quick notes:

Sheridan Majikk, 36th level human magic user from my Metzer/Allston OD&D campaign circa 1984, started his career in Mystara before discovering the Comeback Inn in the Broken Lands. Passing through the gate in the cellar, he discovered Ancient Blackmoor, circa 1000, and decided to settle there. He ended up journeying back and forth between both locations several times.

His descendant, Sheridan Majikk III, was a MMRPG 3.5 character, multiclass NG Thonian Ranger 2/Rogue 2/Wizard 3. Visited the Temple of the Frog, the dungeons of Castle Blackmoor, time traveled via Beagle tech, belonged to the Topaz Eye, the Dungeoneer's Society, and the Blackmoor Military. Eventually went insane from discovering HE was the mage responsible for the start of the Mage Wars (MMRPG Battle Interactive 4 - he was the only mage there).

During the Age of the Wolf (my current 4e campaign setting), Sheridan III is still around: a wandering vagabond soothsayer who resides in Jackport. Apparently, his time traveling adventures have resulted in him still being around in the year 1299.

Cool Sheridan,
it is much too rare to hear about Mystara characters travelling to Blackmoor even if there are several paths open for such exploration. It is amazing that the Majikk family have been able to witness both Mystara, Classic Blackmoor and Age of the Wolf 8)

And now I finally learn where you got your nick from!
