Jeff Quinn's Destiny6 RPG
#1
Last year, Jeff Quinn's Dolmen Creative, announced the launch of the Destiny6 RPG which was to pay homage to Blackmoor. Sadly I just learned this:

Jeff Quinn Wrote:Things are on hold for the moment. We lost our momentum when we discovered a devastating error during final edit. That discovery applied the breaks to the project and we've had difficulties getting the pieces picked up and moving again. However, our flame may be only embers, but its not out. We just have to find the breath to blow back into it.

Thanks for checking on us!

Dolmen Creative's website is down. However, Jeff Quinn reassures me that this is just a matter of the website being hacked. The company is still out there and will return to the web once technical issues are being solved.

From his Q&A thread:

JPQuinn Wrote:Nope, I'm not Dr Jeff yet. I still have time for that. At the moment I'm knee deep in real life work and getting the revisions on Destiny6 pulled together for the final push. The website got nailed by a hacker and I'm working with GoDaddy (our host) to get the situation resolved. Hopefully, the new site will be ready to go for March 4th.

Thanks for keeping tabs on me

Looks like Destiny6 may become a reality afterall. Destiny6 is a fantasy RPG based on the old WEG D6 and is said to contain numerous references to Blackmoor.

I'm posting a couple of updates for anyone who is interested in learning more about Destiny6. First, the Dolmen Creative website has been revamped and now shows more than the March 4th teaser page. Also, Jeff is answering Destiny6 questions over at D6online.com in this thead so feel free to drop by and ask some questions or just show your support.

Thanks Harvard, I will definitely do so.

Also, in case anyone missed it, there is another older thread here where Jeff answered a bunch of Destiny6 setting and mechancs questions. The good stuff starts at post 26 (about midway through the third page of the thread)

Sorry to say, I don't care for this "Destiny6" game AT ALL at this point.

The first announced release was in February 2011. That was one year ago.

So, for this reason, or that reason, Jeff hasn't got it done YET?

Cry me a river, I don't care.

Deliver quality product, and don't try to catch people's attention with announcements that you must full well know are false.

I don't care what Jeff writes on this board, or that board.

He has promised a book. Where is it?

Unless the answer is "right here, let me give it to you": Get lost.

We allow all former Blackmoor writers to promote their publications here, but only as long as their announcements are anyway credible.

I mean, seriously, just how unprofessional can you possibly be?!

Get that crap done, and otherwise, don't bother people.

While I understand Le Noir Faineant's frustration with projects that keep getting cancelled, please don't take his statement about "getting lost" literally. Remember that Zenzen's Freehold is our forum for any kind of topic. Smile

I should say, usually I am not this hostile. In this specific case, I have to confess I am, though.

One thing is product delay, another one is throwing out vaporware titles.

In Jeff's defense, he hasn't made any announcements or promises since the "devastating error” set them back last year. All he did was put up a date of March 4th on his website and agreed to answer some questions about the game at my request.

If you “don’t care about Destiny6” then why are you bothering to post in a thread dedicated to it? Don’t get me wrong, I was also disappointed and frustrated when Destiny6 was delayed but I’m cautiously hopeful that we’ll get it soon and came to this board looking to chat with like-minded people.

I don’t mean any offense to you as I don’t know your situation. Maybe you were more personally involved or invested in Destiny6 so I’m not saying your feelings aren’t justified. I just wanted to clear up any misconception that Jeff has recently been running around promoting his unreleased game.
