Quote:Basically, they would make for the more urban Thonians of old, as opposed to the rider tribes that Robert of Geneva supposedly lead.

Urban? Or do you mean in the sense of not being nomadic?

Quote:The Vales I envision fairly close to ed Greenwood's dalelands, with remote communities and much place for sandbox games. - For example, I have historically set/DMed "The Red Hand of Doom",
as well as the core adventure from the "Adventures in Fantasy", and other shorter scenarios there.

Interesting suggestion about using the Dalelands as a model. I took a look at them on the [ur=http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/Dalelandsl]FR wikipedia [/url]and maybe there is something we could use here.

Quote:As to the Celtic touch, if Blackmoor is an Arthurian setting, the Valemen provide the Celtic aspect, while the Genevans bring in the Roman theme.

I'm buying this as a literary analogy. Obviously the Thonians and the Valemen are technologically more advanced than the peoples you mention, but culturally the comparison fits.

A few notes:
Halgred Forestwalker is from the Blackmoor Player's Guide. He is said to have been the first druid. I decided to link him to the Valemen. My idea is that he spent alot of time in the Blackmoor region with the elves there under King Uhlmar's reign before returning to introduce the druidic faith to his own people in the Vales.
