This project looks pretty interesting. Would you consider allowing some of the spellcasters to be Clerics, given the role of that class in the original campaign? This wouldn't necessarily require special rules, but perhaps it could be handled the same way you are treating thieves, Paladins etc, but within the Spellcaster group.
Otherwise the setup looks sound to me

It's certainly something that the scope of the rules would support. Personally, I am a little uncertain about Clerics as I want to avoid introducing too much of a pantheon and divine influence and all that. I'd like to keep the focus at the human level. I am also not sure how healing magic and turning undead would work, as I think these didn't exist in Chainmail?
