So sorry to hear about this.
Last November, the Gygax brothers were forced to leave the new TSR company and Gygax magazine. Both Dave and then Gary were forced to leave TSR and D&D.
Our pond of gaming is too small for these squabbles. Everybody looses from it.
Sounds like you had a great plan for GaryCon. I really liked the idea of the Dave Sutherland exhibition as well.
Really disappointing that this won't be happening.

Yep; I heard about the legal issues that Luke and Ernie were having to deal with; it was happening at the same time that we were dealing with this mess. You are right; everybody loses, with stuff like this. I am all for IP protection for authors, but this kind of thing is going just a bit too far.
I've had to deal with this kind of crap for over thirty-five years, beginning with the very nasty - and I do mean very nasty - crap that Dave and Gary had to take from the historical wargaming people for creating D&D in the first place. Or having to listen to Tim Kask bad-mouth Dave at every possible opportunity at Gary Con this past March; it just got old. Same thing with him setting off pyrotechnics during my Tekumel RPG on Saturday night; kind of juvenile, but it apparently made him feel good to disrupt my event.
