The Hello Thread!

Hello Charlie!

Good to see you here at The Comeback Inn at last!

I came here because I recognize some posters from other forums and, most importantly, I am leaning heavily towards the "Arneson Way" of gaming as I delve further into the history of our hobby. Basically, I wanted to affiliate with others of similar tastes. I'm definitely not here to step on toes but I want opinions, recollections, and thoughts from all sides. Simply put, I see no need to divide into "the Dave camp" or "the Gary camp' when we can all be in "the D&D camp" BUT I do believe that credit due is credit due.

Sounds to me like you are in good company here then!

As to the Dave or Gary Camp, I think most of us here feel like you do. Although we are Arneson fans, I don't see that in any way as having an anti Gygax sentiment. Gary Gygax contributed so much to the hobby over the decades and without him D&D would never have become what it is today. At the same time, Dave's contributions were essential to the creation of the hobby (and D&D) and addition it is very interesting to explore the ideas Dave had that never made it into main stream RPG design.

Hope to see more of your ideas and insight on these boards man!
