If I wasn't already sure that I would buy your book, this would have helped me make up my mind! I feel like I am starting to get to know Harchar and Chirine by now Smile

Thank you! I'm glad you liked this bit; there's plenty more where that came from...

"Welcome to Tekumel; welcome to the world where I loved for so many years..." -Chirine

This is the reason why I'm writing the book; I want people to be able to discover the sense of wonder and sheer fun that we had all those years ago in our game sessions. We loved and loved, fought and bled, explored and marveled, and - to quote Dave himself! - we made stuff and had fun.

I hope I'll be forgiven for saying this, but there are times when I feel like the fun that we had with Dave, Gary, and Phil has gotten a little lost, over the years; none of them are with us any more, and I miss them. They were creative, they were literate, and they were fun to game with. We were always challenged, we were always excited, and we had to think fast and work quickly. Otherwise, you got dead.

The book will give you the chance to experience those days as we experienced them; we were, Harchar and Chirine, a couple of ordinary guys trying to make a living and a career in a very hostile world. Harchar was the greatest smuggler and buccaneer of them all; I was a military sorcerer who tried to keep his paperwork straight and occasionally had to blow stuff up. You'll meet a lot of other people, too, Princess Vrisa Vishetru (Kathy Marshall), Vidlakte the marine (Ken Fletcher), and one Firu ba Yeker (of the Clan of the Uttermost Secret) - the last-named a 'humble scribe' who always seemed to have the inside information on what was going on.

Let me tell you a story... Smile

yours, chirine
