[Movie] "Nomad" movie as Peshwah inspiration

Rafael Wrote:I hate this movie.

I hate the trailer, I hate the actors, I hate the ten line scoop that IMDB gives me.

Yet, I am going to watch it today, because seeing this thread and reading the name over and over and over

DRIVES ME MAD.

Your passions work in strange ways my friend.

Not that the movie was all that great. But it does feature a race of horsemen, swordplay, archery and drama. Good enough for me Smile

Quote:Seriously though, not a bad choice, backdrop-wise.

My Peshwah, they are like these Peshwah, even though that is a departure from Arneson:

Yep. Truth is even in the published Blackmoor material, it seems like the Peshwa are based on numerous nomadic cultures. Some sources portray them more as Plains Indians. Others as Middle Eastern horsemen cultures like the Scythians or Sarmatians.

I dont think there is anything wrong with taking ideas from all of those as well as other sources too, in order to make them come to life. As I have mentioned many times, I borrow alot of ideas from the Fremen of the Dune Series when portraying this culture. The Fremen arent horsemen, so its more about their attitude, harsh ways of life and spiritual beliefs.

Also, my Peshwa have had some exposure to technological artifacts...
