While I enjoyed them, they were not great - just not messed up, like way to many of the popcorn flicks lately.
Thor was cool enough for what it searched to accomplish, and so was X-Men. But "great", in the sense of surprising,
adding something new to the genre, or being written in disregard of the usual genre tropes? - Not so much.
However, a significant improvement since, say, Wolverine.
Actually, the one movie I am most eagerly anticipating right now would be the new Conan.
Because, if that one works well, we will hopefully get even more adult-oriented fantasy flicks,
not the camp Bullshit of the post-LotR era.
