Hello, hello thread.

I am joining you from Canada's South Coast - Ontario on Lake Erie. I was going to run some D&D for a friend in Carolina who asked for some old school stuff, so I dug out my copy of Dave Arneson's Blackmoor I picked up at Gen Con in 2008 - signed by the great man himself.

It is in 3rd edition, but I will be using 1e (OSRIC) rules. I came here through searching for Blackmoor maps. The best ones were here - thanks.

My next search will be for race conversions for 1e (I am sure his originals were in 1e in the first place).

I am glad you like the maps we are fortunate to offer here by various contributors. More maps are also in the works!

I don't know if anyone has tackled 1st ed/ OSRIC Blackmoor yet, but it would be interesting to see. I have made some rules conversions for Classic D&D /BECMI which might be modified for your uses. You can find those here.

I started playing D&D back in '78 or so. Played editions straight through to 2nd edition Ad&D when I switched over to GURPS, for which I now GM using a VTT (Fantasy Grounds) for my old high school/college friends. I might have switched systems but I still love the old school settings and the history of roleplaying in general.

I GM Gurps in Mystara, specifically The Keep on the Borderlands. As I'm sure you're all aware Mystara has Blackmoor as an important part of its past so I have continuously seen references to Blackmoor in original Mystara material and online at the vaults of pandius etc. I've snagged the DA series, except for The Temple of The Frog, and also have my eye on a copy of TFFC at a local gaming store.

I'm always looking for additional gaming material to read, absorb and incoporate into thoughts for my own game. I recently came across a facebook post that led me here, specifically one that mentioned some adventures modules.
