Classic movie monsters?

NOTE: I'm going to cross-post this to Dragonsfoot and ODD74. I thought I would also post here, as Arneson used classic movie monsters as one of his original inspirations. Maybe one of the old timers has some sort of insight on how Dave did it back in the day.

I'm going to run a Halloween dungeon for my group soon. I found a nifty little boardgame called "Horrified" that has several (unpainted) minis.
(1) Dracula
(2) The Mummy
(3) Frankenstein and the Bride
(4) Creature From the Black Lagoon
(5) The Wolf Man
(6) The Invisible Man

I have no idea if the game is any good or not, but I do like the minis and I thought these would go well on a D&D battlemat. The minis are, I think, slightly larger than regular RPG figures, but the size isn't significant and I think that if they are slightly larger that's okay because it might make them look more intimidating.

I can make up stats (the Frankenstein monster, for example, is a flesh golem. Dracula is a vampire. The Mummy is ... well, you know.) but I wondered if anyone has done this already for classic monsters. I'm actually interested in OD&D and 5E stats, as I haven't decided which system I want to run the session, so anything you have would be great.

So ... anyone stat up classic movie monsters?

As I recall, the black pudding was based upon a 1950's Japanese monster movie, "The Blob".

Here is my attempt at a 5e Creature from the Black Lagoon. Bear in mind, this is making the following assumptions.

-With a Vampire in play, I placed the creature at CR 13 (the CR of the Vampire). Like a Vampire, Creature below is a Legendary Monster. So, without further adieu:

Str: 18 (+4)
Dex: 18 (+4)
Con: 18 (+4)
Int: 15 (+2)
Wis: 16 (+3)
Cha: 15 (+2)

Info: AC: 18 (Natural Armor) / Proficiency Bonus: +5 / Ini: +4 / Perception: 18 / HP: 144 (17d8 + 68)
Movement: 30 ft. (Land), 30 ft. (Swim) / Darkvision 60 ft.

Skills: Athletics +9 / Perception: +8

Claws: Attk: +9 / D: 1d8+4 / R: Medium

Traits

Amphibious: Can breath on land as well as water.

Legendary Resistance (3/Day): 3 times per day, a Gillman can automatically succeed at a Saving Throw of their choice.

Multiattack: A Gillman may make 2 attacks per turn.

Regeneration: At the start of the Gillman's turn, the Gillman receives 10 HP as long as they have 1 or more HP to begin with. The Gillman does not receive 10 HP if they were subject to a Fire or Acid attack in the previous round.

Legendary Actions

A Gillman can use one of the following actions up to 3 times.

Move: Can gain a free 30 ft. movement without provoking an attack of opportunity.

Swipe: Can perform an attack action even if they have already acted in that round.

Regenerate (Costs 2): A Gillman can regenerate 10 HP in the event that they were denied due to suffering Fire or Acid damage in the previous round.

Directors Commentary: The Creature of Black Lagoon was created as a high-end Kuo-toa. The Creature might have certain reptilian features (such as green, scaly skin), but on the other hand, The Gillman feels like a nod to H.P. Lovecraft in some distant fashion, and to me, if you want to get a Deep One, you pluck out a Kuo-toa. Hopefully this stat block helps in someway, even if it's more of an idea generator when you make your own.

According to which ruleset?

Well, I mostly play either OD&D or 5E, but I think that AD&D and C&C are close enough to OD&D that I can "wing it" from there if you had something in one of those rules sets. (Most OSR stuff is oretty much interchangeable, actually.)

Nice! He's one of the ones I was really struggling with. I'm sure I must have seen the movie sometime, but I can't remember much about it at all, which makes it tough to write up a monster. 8)

I think sar-aigu are basically the "creature from the Black Lagoon" monster. Always cool to see another take though.
