I see these pages followed up on my story:

Nothing new there, but it is nice to see that they are reading my blog

Was wondering if there would be any additional insight over here. Heard about it over at this therpgsite thread http://www.therpgsite.com/showthread.php?t=32366
There are definitely some folks who are concerned over MRH record with other kickstarters.
Will be following any news on this. I'd probably be most excited if its a setting book that is generic.

Hey, brave un-lurker! Welcome to Blackmoor!
I guess I can speak for the other admins when I say: We are aware of it, and we are not thrilled. BUT for us, the big news is less that MRH is apparently working on Blackmoor, but that the license - or, parts of it, at least - is again somehow available on the free market.
Even if Mr. Rein-Hagen shouldn't be successful, maybe there's still a future for the brand, which, in principle at least, seems like a good thing.
Now, on the present situation, I won't hold my breath - the last few years seem to have gone less than stellar for MRH, and it's his reputation that is in play.
He made the announcement; for the moment, I am going to asume he has a plan for action. If he doesn't, and still rattles the cages, then it will be on him.

Hello Thondor!
Welcome to The Comeback Inn!
If you want to, feel free to introduce yourself to the rest of the crowd in the Hello Thread!
As you may have gathered from this thread and elsewhere, Mark Rein-Hagen has expressed an interest in reviving Blackmoor, but very little else has been stated officially. We know that Mr Rein-Hagen is considering making this a kickstarter via his company Make-Believe Games.

This has come up on other sites as well, and worth keeping in mind, if a kickstarter is started. Ideally, we would like Mr Rein-Hagen or someone else from Make-Believe Games to adress these concerns. I will contact them and see what can be done about this.

Again, this is still apparently early in the process for Make-Believe Games, but one idea that has been suggested by Rein-Hagen is a combination of D&D 5th Edition and generic setting material. It is highly possible that this may change between this point and the time when a possible kickstarter is officially announced.
CA Suleiman is reported to be among the designers on the project. It should be noted that Mr Suleiman was hired to do freelance on the Blackmoor 4E line. It is likely that much of the material Suleiman was hired to write for that line was completed but never published as the lisence from WotC was revoked after the passing of Mr. Arneson. It seems likely that Make-Believe Games would be interested in making use of some of this unpublished work in some form or other, or at the very least make use of Mr Suleiman's familiarity with Blackmoor based on that work.
Sorry if this got very formal and official sounding, but I guess I am just in that mood today. Feel free to ask more questions if you want!

As one of Havard's band of merry Admins, I'll just say yes,we are aware of the situation, and are following developments, and Havard will definitely report on anything newsworthy.
As for myself, personally, I'll wait until I see a physical book on the friendly local game store before I begin celebrating.

Very much that. There is so much rather bizarre stuff floating around the WWW right now, this ship will sink right in the staples if people don't open a more direct way of communication. Like, if two of three of the spokespeople of the biggest related fan community say right of the bat that they plan to sit out the crowdfunding operation, just how good are MRH's overall chances of success?
The shame is, the little we know about the project indicates that it could be a pretty interesting venture. If bad PR kills it in the starting row, pretty saddening.

Let us not jump to any conclusions for now. As you pointed out before, all we have is a statement of intent and alot of Internet rumours. I have just reached out to Mr Rein-Hagen about these issues. I am sure they will be making more statements when they feel ready to do so.

I have mixed feelings about this.
1. Part of me says "the more Blackmoor, the better" and more BM projects tend to allow for more folks to be exposed to the awesomeness which was the Blackmoor campaign.
2. Part of me says "Dave's Blackmoor is the only true Blackmoor" and feels like more products produced by folks other than Dave tends to dilute the original.
I'm hoping for updates and will probably buy stuff if it comes out, but in the meantime I'm still "FFC all the way!"
