Tim Kask Interview at Vlog of Many Things (Blackmoor, Eldritch Ent, Gaming Industry)
#1
Don Semora has launched a new youtube channel called Vlog of Many Things. Some interesting things on this first episode featuring an interview with Tim Kask:

- Tim didn't get to know Dave Arneson very well. He felt Arneson had come to TSR with his own set of preconceived opinions and was very reserved. Arneson was not very happy about Kask's handling of the Blackmoor supplement, but Tim says that this is now water under the bridge.

- Tim says everything submitted to Supplement II was included, but there wasn't enough to fill up a supplement. Tim wrote "bridging" text and added Steve Marsh's Sahuagin because he felt it would mesh well with the Temple of the Frog. Dave disagreed. [ -- I am still wondering about whether some notes may have been left on the edition board floor as we have speculated elsewhere on this forum]

- Tim says Eldritch Enterprises came to an end because of one unnamed member's massive ego. They had many items ready for publication that were blocked. Tim still has ready written products that were never released.

- Tim says Gygax Magazine would have come to an end because that company suffered from widespread nepotism.

- Tim thinks more companies should get together to pool their resources and be able to market their games.

Further comments: Tim seems a lot less confrontational now than he did when I first saw him posting on various forums maybe 20 years ago. He said him going through cancer had changed his perspective on many things. He also said that one reason he doesn't want to write a book is because he doesnt want to name names of people he would criticize since the issues he has with them are so minor in the grand scheme of things and he does not want to have to deal with that which is something he would have to in a book.
