The Balebourne are a cross between Orcs, Goblins and and other foul beasts. They look like Orcs, but with a reddish tinge to their skin and hair. They often serve as bodyguards to Orc Chieftains. Each Balebourne will have one 1st level spell (chosen at random). Balebourne have infravision and thrive underground, but in bright daylight they suffer a -1 to attacks.
Terrain: Underground

Balebourne Orcs first appeared in Dave Arneson's Blackmoor (D20).

Very cool. The only thing I can see to possibly add from 4e is that they are always found in small numbers living within normal Orc tribes.

Really they are a kind of Half Orc.

The comparison is not bad. Although they may be more similar to Tolkien's Uruk Hai. Their origins seem very mostrous, but OTOH, they are very intelligent and perhaps more civilized than most Orcs.
