In my games, as general reference for the players, I use this map of the Kingdom of Blackmoor by ZGG: https://blackmoor.mystara.net/img/BlackmoorSmall.jpg
However, I can understand that somebody may prefer the hexagons, so you can use a map from the DA series, such as this: https://blackmoor.mystara.net/img/DA4_Map_full_size.png

Agree with Yaz. The Clayton Bunce map is generally the best for a Wilderlands or Mystara or "independant" based Blackmoor. For Blackmoor in Greyhawk my map is the best if I do say so myself.

IMHO it's hard to choose, and really is up to personal taste.

For my own gaming I am using the original mimeograph map. It comprises most of the areas of interest and matches up fairly well with about 1/3rd of the Judges Guild map.

I am also tempted to use the JG map, yet because of copyright issues I tend to avoid it as most gamers cannot get one for themselves.

I was speaking with Aldarron/Dan on the phone the other day about this very same issue. The core idea to understand is that Blackmoor is truly a living world and is constantly changing in the early years. Up until 1977, the setting isn't being viewed by Arneson as a product. As a Blackmoor Ref, you need to decide where you want to place your game both within the game lore and within the real history.

My advice is to go to the beginning and use the original map.

You can find the original map here:

We are also selling printed maps of the Town and World setting here:

I'm surprised noone has mentioned the map from the DA Blackmoor D20 Softcover book. I like Clayton Bunce's map, but the map that came with the softcover book is much more detailed.

Yes, I strongly prefer this map, and I captured a hi-res digital version of it from the PDF copy of the D20 book. The physical map is still bound in my softcover book. Big Grin

There are some slight omissions or differences compared to some of the preceding maps, but it seems to be the most comprehensive and is by far the best quality.
