Quote:In the realm of Entalasia in the Republic of Koreanika two travellers roam the land looking for food and a place to sleep without getting themselves killed! Tian is a magic user who had to drop out of school because he couldn't afford the tuition! Because of his abrupt departure, he only knows a sole level one spell...."Fireball". Your opponents aren't really gonna cringe in fear if that's the best you can do. So Tian is always looking for some magic items to make him stronger, which usually gets the duo in trouble. His friend, Drei, is a fierce warrior who just happens to be a complete idiot with a 50 IQ. The only thing he worries about is feeding his bottomless stomach. He also carries an enchanted talking sword that gets on his nerves. These two guys are not really heroes in the real sense of the word, because they leave death and destruction in their wake wherever they go, whether they intended it or not. For example, in the prologue of volume 1, they cut up a senile dragon to sell the body parts for cash and then find out that the dragon was the father of the girl who saved them from some nasty monsters. Instead of fighting her in her dragon form they take off, leaving her to raze their home village, killing everybody....Theirs is a vicious cycle of heroism which forces them sometimes to beat the crap out of the very people they should be saving!

Last Fantasy is the funniest manga/manhwa this side of Cromartie High that I've read this year. You'll be laughing out loud as you read it because it plays with all the roleplaying game/novel conventions. The art is great because it is done so well and so meticulously like this is some epic story but in reality it's about two loser cowards trying to get by in a world they are ill-equipped to deal with, one because he lacks a brain, the other because he lacks power. You can pretty much see most of the jokes coming, but it doesn't detract from the laughs. You should pick this up if you want to have a bellyache full of humor!

Obviously a parody of the FF games. Smile

And here are some fan-translated scans.

Effin' brilliant. A spoof of the entire sword & sorcery fantasy franchises from Japan.

BRILLIANT.

...Now the question is... Are "Last Fantasy" and "The Last Fantasy Return" the same thing/somehow connected?

- Havard - 06-28-2010

Heh. Sorta funny Smile

Just looking at the poster I see very light skinned (aristocratic?) Japanese with mysteriously blond hair, wearing Nazi uniforms. That's sufficeintly unappealing enough for me to not be interested in the story.

I had a similar reaction to the poster, but the comic was very different from what you'd expect. Not saying it was all that good, but different. Heh.
