In my hypothesis, the Egg of Coot is a Great Servitor of the Outer Beings, left behind in this "reality" when the Outer Beings were "exiled".
So, the answer is YES.
It has to be decided if it was awake during the Burrowers Wars or not.

Because that surely influences the rest of what you wrote; in my game, the Evershard is essentially the Black Monolith from 2001, containing the soul of a draconic god.

Have a look at my hypothesis on a broader scale:
- an Older Being arrives "physically" on Mystara and leaves behind the black stones of the Spire (see the threads about the nature of Blackmoor magic and the Sar-Aigu ritual)
- that black stones (or some of that) become the homologous of the black monolith, i.e. exert a lawfullish influence to develop technology
- Blackmoor (even through "strange" events, such as the crash landing of a spaceship...) actually develops a high level of technology
- Blackmoor obliterates, but leaves behind the Nucleus of the Spheres, that reduces progressively the magic of Mystara (and it is told that an Outer Being -the same as before?- manipulated it in order to have this proper effect)
- the magic drain will force Mystara to develop a technological culture, mostly bound to a lawfullish society

Now, how would you make your draconic god trapped in the monolith fit with this story?
Possibly, the monolith has to be "powered" by an Immortal, so when the monolith frees a previous Immortal, another one has to take his place. So for a while there will be your draconic god, but probably before and after there will be some other Immortal, tested this way by the Older Ones...

How does it sound????
