Blackmoor as Mystara's Dwemer (from Skyrim)?

In Skyrim, the dwarves (Dwemer) are a forgotten race, but many of their underground settlements appear as dungeons filled with various mechanical contraptions, Robot-like golems etc.

Can Blackmoor play a similar role in Mystara?

Can, and does in Thorn's Mystara: The Vault of the Ancients in the Lost Valley is what remains of a Blackmoor Dragonstones crystal mining facility. The World Mountain in Ethangar was a dragonstone/Aetheric research facility. And you already know about Uthorrad/Urzud

You guys might dimly remember that I had the future of Blackmoor - way before Skyrim, by the way - layed out as Uther's descendants becoming Dragon Kings.

So, while the Dwemer plot would not work for me, the Dragonborn concept, which is sort of related, might.
