As the black silhouette moves closer, you all notice a similarity between its outlines and the depictions of Rahotep that you saw in other places of this tomb before. In fact, Ahi fears that it might be his Sekem that you are confronting here (see here:
viewtopic.php?f=38&t=380).
Round 1:Party initiative: 5 Sekem's initiative: 2 In short order, both
Gaderon's disintegrate ray, and
Ahi's flame strike hit the dark shape. It's unclear if the flames of the priest's spell cause any damage at all to it, but the Sekem nimbly moves aside one step, and Gaderon's ray misses it.
Sekem's saving throw: 16 Kherim's three attacks all hit the thing, which feels to the paladin like cutting through a curtain. It's impossible for him to tell if the damage that he caused was serious to it or not as no visible wounds can be seen in the dark shape.
Two chances for a critical hit: As
Sol steps forward to attack the thing from the side, he finds out that it's two-dimensional indeed as he can barely make it out at all. There's just a hair-thin shimmer in the air in the place where it might be. Taking one step back again, he sides with Kherim, and now the Sekem comes in sight for him again. His maneuver has cost Sol one attack in this round though. His first swing misses clearly, but the second is a hit. Like for Kherim, it's impossible for him to tell if he caused any real damage to it as the Sekem neither shows any sign of wounding nor does it flinch or otherwise make a sound at all.
Sol's attacks: 6, 18 Tizona damage: 13 Sneaking up behind it,
Eilkhan draws her short blade and attacks the Sekem from behind.
Eilkhan's attack: 15Shortsword damage: 8Silently stretching out an arm towards Kherim, the Sekem touches the paladin gently on the arm. As it does so, it immediately draws away four points of wisdom from Kherim!
Sekem attack: 14 Sekem damage: Wisdom drain, 4 points After it has attacked, the thing suddenly turns sideways in an impossible manner that is dizzying to the eyes, and disappears from view.
OOC: Please state your intentions for the next round. In case you might wonder: I continue to use the dice rolls that Steve has provided me for Eilkhan, which explains the absence of dice roller links.
