If I have not yet said this before, Ahi casts Aid on Sol and Kherim before they engage. This is on top of all the other spells I had given before.

When the fight starts, Kherim attacks the statue with his scimitar and Ahi casts Flame Strike on the statue.

Round 1

Party initiative: 2
Statue initiative: 1

The crackling arc of electricty that is Gaderon's chain lightning spell, strikes the towering figure, but is harmlessly absorbed into the stone, leaving no trace of it behind - much to the mage's dismay. The same thing happens with Ahi's flame strike. It engulfs the statue, but does no discernable damage.

Eilkhan fires one of her magical crossbow bolts at Rahotep's khu that slowly fades from view. The bolt hits! There's a surprised croak coming from the khu as if it wasn't expecting to be attacked, but the fading continues.

Closing in for melee with the golem-idol of Rahotep, Kherim and Sol, with their fighting abilities and strength greatly enhanced by the magicks of Ahi and Gaderon, attack with great efficiency and vigor. Sol immediately feels that he made the right choice: Even though his fighting skill with the longsword is greater, the warhammer is obviously the better weapon in this situation. All of his attacks hit and cause a total of 45 points of damage to the golem-idol.
Kherim's attacks are powerful and precise, and they too all hit for damage, but the paladin notes that there's something wrong. The damage is less than it should be (only 28 instead of 56), and a weird vibration runs through the blade of his scimitar as it hits the stone... (OOC: Please make an unmodified ST for Kherim's scimitar to see if the blade snaps)

Two chances for a critical hit: 36 and 34 ;

Even though the huge statue is already badly damaged by the two warriors' attacks, it swings its monstrous stone arms at the paladin before it. One of the stone fists barely misses Kherim, the other one hits for 20 points of damage.

Attacks on Kherim: 6, 8
Damage: 20

Sol calls out to the others "Kill Khu!"

Two attacks with the warhammer.

To hit: 22, 22

Damage: 19, 14

Have you added all the bonuses, Greg?

ST for Kherim:

1d20 = http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4528913/

Do I add any bonuses for ST that Kherim has? He's got +2 from being a paladin, plus the +1/+3 in STs against non-evil/evil enemies.
Do these add in this circumstance?

I will wait for the adjudication before deciding what Ahi and Kherim do.

Gaderon will not move, but immerse himself in deep concentration... [Disintegrate on Khu.]

Ahi casts Cure Serious Wounds on Kherim, while Kherim attacks again.

Ahi heals 2d8+1 = 14

Kherim attacks:

2d20+11 = 28, 22

http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4530276/

Damage: 2d8 + 13 = 19, 19

Round 2

Party initiative: 6
Golem iniative: 1

Once more, you are quicker to strike than the huge and clumsy construct. Gaderon's disintegrate ray is a direct hit, and Rahotep's khu disappears from sight - although the mage isn't quite sure if that happened due to his spell or because it had nearly completely faded anyway...

"Kill Khu!" Sol, who hadn't noticed that the human-headed vulture-thing had already blinked out of sight, continues to attack with his warhammer while calling out to his comrades. Once more, he places two nearly-perfect hits that cause great damage (33 hit points) on the golem-idol.

Two chances for a critical hit: 36, 30 ,

Kherim's attacks are equally good, but once again, he feels that his scimitar might break because of the immense forces that are set free when striking the granite-like stone of the idol, and the damage is less than it should be (19 hit points). (OOC: Another unmodified ST, please)

But it was enough. The web of cracks and missing pieces that had covered the idol has become too unstable, and the whole colossus falls apart into a huge pile of debris, in which something can be seen that looks like a now-dead creature.....

A chill falls over your group. The walls ahead shimmer as the scene changes. Two sets of doors are now visible in the empty alcoves.

To the left is a portal of black wood. Green pictures and hieroglyphs upon those two doors depict a priest using a flail to drive off creatures made of fire and other incredible monsters. To the right are doors of bright reddish mahogany. Blue depictions thereon show a wizard who holds a crook aloft, subduing ravenous demons, devils, and fiends that cower below him.

Both gateways are done in the ancient style, with heavy metal hinges and supports. They are closed tight, and each pair is sealed with a large lead cartouche, which you recognize as that of "The Set Rahotep".

So, that one worked!

Gaderon will cast another quick spell, and his skin will turn to stone...

The wuzard will not move, though, and already conjure another fire spell, in case Khu might suddenly reappear...

[Stoneskin, preparing Fireball]

"Yes!"

Sol will investigate the now dead creature that was in the statue before going on to look at the doorways.

Within the statue is a shriveled, blackish-red mummy wearing ancient finery and a necklace, the latter inscribed with a cartouche that reads "Rahotep".

The mummy clutches a papyrus scroll and wears a ring on one bony finger. Next to it lie a bronze crook and a bronze flail, both of which are often included in depictions of Khemitian deities.
