Round 4Party initiative: 3
Monster initiative: 2
OOC: I was somewhat worried that you guys might be losing initiative because that would have surely been the end of Ahi and perhaps also Kherim. The dice were lucky for you though. I also needed to re-roll Sol's damage, because you used a d8 for it, whereas a longsword does 1-12 damage vs large opponents.IC: If the serpent-snake is vulnerable to electrical attacks, or
Gaderon breached its magic resistance for the first time, the mage doesn't know. After a slight change of his position to get a better angle to hit the monster, the
lightning bolt from his staff hits it directly in its huge belly. With only 13 points, The damage is disappointingly small though.
Serpent-snake's saving throw: 20
Lightning bolt damage: 13 (halved because of the ST)
Standing in the flames of the fire ring,
Sol' attempt to finish off the monster before it kills his two comrades are somewhat hampered by the dizziness in the wake of the
unholy word. Only his first swing is a hit, the second one missing the thing by far.
Tizona damage: 9
Fumble chance, second attack: 81
Kherim and Ahi both gulp down one of their extra-healing potions and are healed some of their damage immediately,
Kherim's potion: 14
Ahi's potion: 13
And then, with a roar that is full of pain, the huge serpent-snake shivers and collapses, releasing both Ahi and Kherim of its grasp as it drops down dead, while the flames surrounding it die down and the effect of the
unholy word immediately wears off as well. What happened? Puzzled, you look around and see
Eilkhan sitting on the back of the dead monster, burned by fire but smiling at you. Gaderon can see her hands holding firmly the hilt of her short sword which is buried deeply in the creature's neck.
Backstabbing damage (x5): 40
OOC: Battle over. That was a pretty close one.....
