Gaderon too succeeds in dispelling the magic on the other row of statues. The kind of magic on the two central statues needs to be determined by Gaderon by casting the detect magic spell as Tizona is unable to do this.

Gaderon says "I already used my detect magic spell for the day. I will need to rest and study my spellbook again, before I can determine what type of magic is coming from the two statues in the middle."

He will sit down and start doing that, if nobody objects...

Actually, resting would not be a bad idea, but I suggest we would do it in another place. Can we walk back to the previous room? Kherim is not comfortable with the statues here.

I trust that the evil remains, even if the magic does not?

Gaderon and Sol both agree to move and move back to the chamber with the two statues by the route we came in on. After that we will eat and rest while Gaderon rests and studies his spellbook.

Returning to the two statues is no problem as they're only a few feet behind you. Moving farther back might be dangerous though as you don't know if the copper skeletons might awake another time from their stony slumber.

Resting is uneasy this time. The presence of the ancient evil is strong in this hall, and the stench that continues to issue forth from the undead lairs behind the statues doesn't make things easier for you. And while you get enough rest to re-memorize and pray for new spells, no one of you could sleep. Weary and tense, you wash your rations down with stale water and wonder what horrors might wait for you this day.

Gaderon will cast detect magic on the two statues in the center of the chamber, to determine what type of magic they possess.

Before that, everyone eats the Heroes' Feast. That saves on a few other protective spells for a very good while.

The Heroes' Feast is just what you needed to raise your spirits again. More confident you turn towards the two towering statues. Casting detect magic, Gaderon identifies auras of the alteration and enchantment/charm type on both.

Sol will use Tizona to cast detect magic again on the two rows of statues on the sides to make sure that they have not been re-enchanted, while Ahi and Kherim do their protection spells.
