There's nothing evil about these two things, but Kherim notices a strong evil aura from somewhere below the staked vampire....

Sol will cast detect magic first on the ring and then the wand.

As he does so, he calls out "Gaderon, you should come over here. This guy has an interesting wand and ring."

Hearing Sol's call, Gderon will come over and see if he can make anything out about the wand and the ring (like see any inscriptions) before we decide what to do with them.

Both items have a magical aura about them, but Tizona also detects another aura beneath the staked master: Way more powerful than the one on the two items....

On first inspection, Gaderon doesn't notice anything peculiar about the wand and the ring.

"Check for a false bottom, guys."

"We will, Eilkhan, but when everyone is ready for whatever surprise lies here. It may be one more of those evil items, but it may also be something likely to attack us. I'm wary of surprises".

At these words, Ahi readies his gear and chimes in:

"Ordinarily, I would say we should rest and recover before daring any more thing. But this vampire is an emergency. So, I'd try to stake him out as soon as possible and then see what lies beneath, surprise or not. If it can be delayed, we'd best too. This fight has considerably weakened all of us, and I don't seem to have the means to recover us to our earlier prowess. Alas... maybe those gold pendants will have some use we have to find out first."

Gaderon step back from the coffin.

Sol also steps back from the master's coffin and says "We already drove a stake through his heart. Eilkhan, can you check the box for secret compartments? Or do you want us to remove his body from the box first?"

"I'm guessing it will be up to us to remove the body first", Kherim shrugs. "And I vote for doing it now instead of waiting as Ahi suggested. We should identify what threats may be nearby before we let our guard down."

"At any rate, though, I'd be more relaxed if we cut its head first".

Kherim proceeds to behead the vampire with his scimitar.

After Kherim cut the vampire's head off, you carefully remove its body from the sarcophagus. Beneath it lie several old and flimsy looking silk cushions. The aura that Tizona detects comes from beneath them, so you move them aside and reveal a circular dark shape. It looks like an ancient seal of sorts, cut from ebony, and inlaid with pale lines and hieroglyphs made of bone. Kherim immediately recognizes it as yet another one of the mysterious and powerful evil objects of which you already have seven in your possession.

"Yes, another one", Ahi shrugs as if burdened by the weight of the ceiling of the room.
"We have to take it with us."

Gaderon will carefully remove the ivory wand and ring from the master vampire's headless body.

Sol volunteers "I am not carrying any of these evil items, yet. I will take this one. Do any of you have any special handling instructions for me, so I don't do something unexpected with it?"

Unless someone objects, Sol will carefully remove the object from the sarcophagus and put it in his backpack.
