The Wayfarer's Inn

Eilkhan looks around and removes the boots. Whispering as she prepares to toss the boots down "Okay, so it looks like this..."" and she describes what she sees. She throws one boot at a time down.

Just so no confusion, Sir C, we are at the top right hand corner of the map where it is marked Telport A and Teleport B, right?

One by one you levitate out of the pit. While moving upward, unwelcome and disturbing memories of himself being impaled on the spikes below only a few days ago come to Kherim's mind. Then he passes the strange red and black hieroglyphic inscription on the wall of the pit, and suddenly he feels a tinkling in his mind and his hair rising. Something's here.... Perhaps the spirit of the malicious Khu that had manifested itself above this very pit has somehow returned? Then Kherim feels an unexpected urge to touch the wall with the inscription....

Will he give in to the impulse and touch the wall, or does he want to move on?

Ah, no! He just moves on, but he warns the others and gets himself ready in battle-array as he climbs out of the pit.

Nothing happens while Kherim levitates past the inscription and out of the pit. A strange feeling remains though. There's something there.......

OOC: Now what? I guess you all gather at the entrance of the low-ceilinged passage?

"So now what? I can scout ahead if you like. What was those pictures or writing on the wall?"

Before the band goes away, as they huddle aorund the pit, Kherim tells the others about the strange feeling he had while climbing.

"Those marks: they're probably a curse, but I felt some kind of presence."

Ahi interjects, incensed at the thought:
"Wait! I'll check if there's something in there."

Ahi casts True Sight from his talisman, and peers into the pit, trying to understand something there.

Sol will watch for approaching danger while the others investigate this "presence".

The power of the holy talisman enables Ahi to see that the inscription lies in the center of something that looks suspiciously like the outlines of a secret door, about 5'x7' in size.

"Aahhh", he says in a somewhat disappointed tone.
"This is not what I expected. There is a door down there, and the inscription is just in the center. Perhaps we should try it later.""
