The Wayfarer's Inn

Ivid, covering the party's back, as always.

Oh that's just great! This better not be quicksand or I'm gonna be really pissed off. I need to pay more attention to my surroundings for the love of the gods. I need someone to dispel this if it is magic or we can try another way to the voices.

So the thief's first reaction should be to panic. However, she is quite experienced and calculates the options before her in her mind. Coming up with what she thinks is her best option she begins. Eilkhan attempts to walk back by lifting her feet one at a time to get back to where the ground is solid. If this doesn't work, she will reach into her bag of holding and remove a grappling hook and then attach a fifty foot rope to it. She will then attempt to use her rope knowledge to toss the grapple and hopefully let it snag on the corner she came from to pull her self out. This should also alert the others by the noise it makes that something is going on. She is still invisible by all rights and someone looking where she is will see the imprint of her feet and lower legs in the sand. Man she hated magic users for their spells sometimes.

Hearing Eilkhan, Gaderon will prepare a levitate spell, just in case she is not able to get out of the mire.

Retreating from the muddy ground is no problem for Eilkhan. The murmuring around the corner continues in the meantime.

The thief returns to the guys and appears. Whispering, she says "Ok, some dudes are chanting. WHen I went a bit further up I came upon muddy ground. I think it's magical. And I do not know how far it goes. Maybe one of you guys who cast spells could come with me and learn what they're chanting and if the mud there is real or magical."

Gaderon produces his boots of levitation and offers them to Eilkhan.

"Perhaps these will help you get past the magic mud..."

"I can go with you", says Ahi, "perhaps I can dispel that effect."

Kherim follows too. "I can try to see how long it stretches, and in any case, I think we should be there to protect you. Could you see them from where you were?"

"THanks for the boots." SHe takes them and removes hers, putting them on. "I couldn't see them but when we're there you'll have a better idea what's going on." Eilkhan takes Ahi to the mud and has a better listen to see what these persons are saying or chanting.

The muddy ground begins near the corner. One can choose to enter the first corridor to the right and move past it, but further ahead it starts getting deeper. Eilkhan, Ahi, and Kherim move as silently as they can near its edge. They all can hear the murmuring sounds clearly. What they hear doesn't sound like a language at all, but more like incoherent babbling with rarely a clear word being audible. It also sounds sleepy, as if many people speak in their dreams...

Sol and Gaderon creep slowly and quietly forward after the others as they move toward the corner and the noise.
