Is the spell still active? Does everything _look_ as it did before?

Sol follows and says "We only awakened two of the demons and we were able to handle them last time. We have to be very careful not to touch those little statues. Would it be appropriate to pray or study your spells before we go on? Or is it too soon to do that?"

"If it is too soon, we can always wait. Anyhow, what we need here is a good plan. Why don't we review our options?"

The true seeing spell is still active, and enables Ahi to clearly notice the powerful magical aura that surrounds the whole table, coming from the objects thereon: statuettes, scarab, and cloak.

Does Ahi know of any way to undo the aura around the figurines? Would a dispel magic be able to affect them without affecting the objects?

Eilkhan interjects "So, if noone objects," as she walks up to the cloak and eyes it, "I'll remove the cloak for now." The rogue of course checks meticulously for traps and the such. After that she takes the cloak if nothing terrible happens (Like the end of the world )

OOC: A dispel magic only dispels spell effects and potions. Magic items, as in this case, aren't affected.

It's impossible for Eilkhan to remove the cloak from the table without touching or moving several figurines, as they have been placed cleverly around and even on it. Will she still try to do it?

"We could try to destroy the table isntead, without touching the figurines", Kherim suggests, "but of course, that could also trigger all of them at the same time".

Sol replies "That would probably be disasterous for us. What else could we try? Trigger ones that are specifically on the cloak? Remember the one we triggered before immediately tried to trigger more of them..."

Kherim thinks back for a while trying to remember everything they did before. He checks if the adamantine bars are still down. Then he says to the others:

"Well, we have seen the sphynxes, and tried them, but not the other two statues. I, for one, haven't even checked if they are evil. In the demon room we still have 24 demons, and we know they can be activated by crushing them or by a demon wakening them. There is no immediate reason to think they'll transform into a demon for simple holding them.

As for other options, with the bars down we really don't have much to do here, except try and kill or be killed. Unless, of course, that pressure plate opens the bars as well as it closed them.

So, the options seem to be:

1) try to open the bars by using the pressure plate, so we may have a way out
2) study the remaining two statues, try to understand what they are
3) try to remove one figurine from the table, putting it in a bag or throwing it to the main hall at once so it hopefully (if at all) transforms in a better place to fight it
4) lure one or all demons to the sphynxes and ask for their help to destroy them.

The feeling I have is that these sphynxes might actually be on our side, since I don't feel any evil in them. And there are some things that intrigue me in this tomb. We have found non-evil, even sanctified objects in here: this scimitar, much likely that hammer. There was also a holy room. So, is it possible that this place was not built by the evil we are seeking, but taken and altered by him, and some things he just could not destroy nor displace? Could these sphynxes be such a remnant?

Of course, I'm again being greedy. We should be looking for a way out. But who's to say that doesn't lie with the scarab, the cloak or the statues?"
