"That's pretty messed up if acid does nothing. Strong magic here. Someone didn't want anyone to pass here at all. Is there a spell that can take us all to the other side? Maybe a teleport type spell."

"I wonder if this whole thing could be a sensory illusion", Ahi says. "That would explain why none of the actions that should have any effectin the real thing don't appear too. If that is the case, I'd get out of this room before trying to dispel the incantation."

If one of the others decides to cast a spell, Sol will head out of the room down the hall the group arrived in this room through.
Otherwise, he will try to see if he can twist the deformed bar to the side opening a gap in the bars. If that works, he will
proceed to deform an adjacent bar, intending to rotate it to the other direction to create a gap that we may pass through.

"Well since little else is working, shall I attempt my magic now or does anyone else have further suggestions?"

Gaderon speaks this without even looking up from his spell book. He sounds ready but not in any sort of hurry.

OOC: If yes he will try three spells. Dispel Magic to see if that will defeat any illusion, if not then Knock to see if it can be opened that way, and finally disintegrate if all else fails...

"No objection to your trying it, Gaderon" Kherim says.
Ahi nods too: "That is a good course of action. Perhaps I should try dispelling it first and then you'd follow with something else if I failed."

"Very well, I can wait to see if that works."

Gaderon nods and will step aside until Ahi attempts his efforts. He prepares the two spells he will use now as Ahi will cover the first he had planned.

OOC: Will cast only Knock and Disintegrate now and after Ahi if no one objects.

Ahi asks for every to step out of the room, and then assuming a solemn look, begins a chanted incantation to his goddess Neith.

OOC: Ahi casts Dispel Magic focused in the center of the room. It has a range and diameter of 60'. Is that enough to cover the portcullis? If not, Ahi will cast it as far ahead as possible/needed to reach the portcullis.

Upon the casting of the spell, something most unexpected happens. Within a few seconds, the whole area you're standing in first starts to blur, and then becomes strangely translucent until it finally disappears completely and you find yourselves in the entry hall of this long complex of rooms, winking as if a veil has lifted from your eyes.
The portal behind you stands open as you've left it, and the four exit tunnels are dead ends, full of sand and dust. Lots of tracks of your own sandals and boots criscross the whole place and the four tunnels as well, leading to the dead-end walls and back from them.

It looks as if your whole group was probably under the influence of a fiendish and most complex illusionary dweomer during the last few hours...
