Round 1

The party wins initiative.

As the slave-warriors come closer, you notice that they aren't living beings but obviously made of body parts of dead humans, crudely stitched together and only showing minimal signs of decomposition. Swinging their spiked war clubs menacingly, they advance behind the cover of their large wooden and leather tower shields.

All goes for well for a few seconds, with Ivid, Eilkhan and Sol taking down the first of these creatures with sword and bow. The moment it dies it evaporates into nothingness, only to step forth from the statue again, seemingly completely healed!

On the left side of the room, Gaderon levitates up and peppers the approaching warrior with magic missiles for 25 points of damage, which isn't enough to take it down. Then Kherim sounds his magical horn, and a tremendous noise fills the entire hall, the effect of which is quite impressive to behold. As if blown away by a mighty gale, bed, statues, shelves, chairs, trunks and tables, everything within a path of about 1 foot in width, is blasted and smashed into pieces and blown away to the far end of the room into a huge pile of debris. The savages seem to be unaffected by it though and advance further, with the first one then being attacked by Elmo who misses with the first swing of his axe, but hits with the second attack and takes the creature down as it was the one that was already severely damaged by the magic missiles. It disappears as well, but no new one appears as the statue from whence it stepped from is now destroyed.

Then Ahi finishes casting his flame strike, and all hell breaks loose. The majority of the containers on the crammed shelves and tables obviously held flammable substances of alchemical sort, and the fire and immense heat of Ahi's spell starts a fatal chain reaction of violent explosions that immediately spread throughout the whole room, setting everything on fire.

OOC: Everybody except for Gaderon who is safe up there on the ceiling, please make a ST for half damage. In case you have any magic items that give protection against fire or ST bonuses, please keep these in mind.

[ooc: Sol rolled a 16 for his ST. I assume that these savage things are undead, so I should use Tizona's +4 undead bonus rather than the regular +1 in future combat, right?]

Gaderon watches the firestorm erupt below and seeing this grasps his wand from his belt... He begins targeting the nearest intact statue and casts more of the missiles at it as soon and as often as needed to destroy the things... He however has to stop himself from checking too often on the others condition...

OOC: Magic Missile once again but from the wand...

Round 2

A terrible series of explosions tears the contents of the chamber apart, and although all of you somehow manage to avoid the worst, it is quite obvious that you need to get out of here very soon because otherwise the ongoing fire with its immense heat development and the great amount of smoke will kill you very quickly.

OOC: All STs were successful, which means only 16 points of damage this round. Damage will be automatic each round from now on as long as you stay in the chamber. Gaderon will be affected as well from the next round on because of heat and smoke.

Except for Gaderon, no one is able to attack this round because you're all too much involved in not becoming burned too badly. Surprisingly, the slave warriors are unaffected by the fire - at least they don't get burned. But it somehow seems to disorient and slow them, and they're moving about in a random and confused way and are unable to attack as well.

Gaderon's magic missiles destroy another statue, but the mage can also see that the fire will soon completely burn them away so that there's no need to waste more spells on them.

Gaderon will descend and grasp his equipment left below holding his breath and forcing himself to at least grasp the cursed artifacts. The rest of his actions will be to move next to Eilkhan and try to usher her toward the door Sol chose trying to shield her from harm. Once more coughing through his sleeve he debates the merits of his spell casting choices this day, but knows he has nothing still prepared to ease the fire. Noting Sol's moves to the door he understands the concern but is worried for the effects of another rounds waiting...

"Sol, if you can open that door and let us be done with this Gods forsaken room!"

He begins also to start preparations to magically unlock the door if necessary...

The stone door is heavy and hasn't been moved for centuries, but since Sol isn't affected by the poisonous vapors he's able to open it.

Behind it lies a disappointingly small room with no other exits. Along the walls ahead and to the right are shelves that hold hundreds of statuettes as well as other items. Sol's sword detects a powerful magical aura from all the figurines as well as from a bundle that lies on a table just around the corner.

You all fit in there easily if you wish, but you have to decide quickly because smoke and heat are already drifting inside, plus the air is sucked out of it to feed the flames.

The savages are obviously slowly adjusting to the fiery surroundings. They still move in a sluggish way, but now they start focusing their attention to your party again and will likely be able to attack next round.

OOC: Another 15 points of damage for everyone from fire & heat.

Sol says "Quick, everyone, inside, so we can shut this door until the fire dies down." as he moves into the room, staying by the door to close it as soon as everyone is inside. As he waits, Sol will check to be sure that there is a way to reopen the door from the inside...
