Gaderon will cast it immediately then and hope for the best!

Gaderon's spell works just fine and opens up a passage through which Ivid, Elmo, and Eilkhan can squeeze through, one at a time.
Further up, Sol and Kherim grab the portcullis, trying to somehow lift it. Much to their dismay they find out that it's electrically charged, delivering them a powerful shock.

OOC: 11 points of damage for Kherim and Sol.
Now everyone please make your STs vs the gas. Success means that you were able to hold your breath in time and avoid breathing it in for now. Ahi is the only one who can avoid the gas altogether if he wants to, by simply moving into the room.

[ooc: I rolled a 16 for Sol's saving throw against the gas.]

[ic] Ahi steps into the room, avoiding the gas. He hopes that the trap is already sprung and that he won;t spring any other one.

Gaderon curses mentally and if able to shrug off the gas will begin to drop all excess equipment, then yells his instructions as loud as he is able...

"ALL OF YOU!!! STAY CLEAR (Cough) OF FIFTEEN PACES OF THE ROOMS OPENING FROM THIS HALLWAY! KHERIM!!! BACK AWAY FROM THE MIDDLE OF THAT STAIRWAY AND TO THE WALL NOW!!!"

Glancing back to confirm his return position is open, he begins chanting while looking at the stairwells center, and preparing to teleport there. If he can withstand these vapors, then perhaps he might recover both men using the second and last of such spells available to him...

Ivid and Elmo will grab the person next to them and drag them upstairs.

Once out of immediate danger, Ivid will put a piece of cloth over his face,
turn around and return for whoever was left back.

Kherim hears Gaderon's warning just as he slips with the electric jolt. Caught off guard, he gasps and intakes some of the gas.

[OOC: Kherim rolled a 5, so I'm assuming he's not so lucky as to avoid the gas. If he is, I'll edit this post]

Kherim feels the effect of the gas immediately, as does Gaderon who deliberately disregarded it and continued breathing to be able to call out to Sol and the paladin and to cast his spell afterwards. Both feel their strength sucked out of their bodies, leaving them feeble and frail and barely able to remain on their feet. OOC: Both lose half of their STR and CON scores, rounded down.

While Ivid, Elmo, and Eilkhan hold their breath as best as they can and hurry through the magical passage that the mage opened up for them, Ahi enters the large hall itself. With a sigh of relief he notices that he didn't trigger any more traps while doing so. The gas quickly spreads throughout the room in the meantime, covering the floor to a height of about 4 feet as it does so.

Gaderon's teleport spell succeeds, and he weakly stumbles towards Kherim who leans pale-faced against the wall next to the portcullis that separates him from Sol.

"Sol drop as much weight as you can afford to lose and reach through the bars to take my hand, you do so as well Kherim!!!"

Gaderon staggers into position to the accommodate the others, and once they take hold he begins to cast his last teleport...

Sol drops his munched shield. Short of taking off his armor and dropping his weapons that is about all he can drop. Then he carefully grabs Gaderon's hand, avoiding the bars.
