OOC: I've opened up a new thread since the action has moved on to another area of the tomb. Please continue your exploration here. My last posting plus map is repeated for your convenience.

Eilkhan sees a 70-foot-long hallway, 20 feet wide and high. The whole ceiling is made of a blue-violet stone that appears as if it were a cloudless night sky, for full moon and myriad stars not only appear on the surface, but even produce illumination identical to the real things. Yet the light is unusually radiant, so that she is able to detect colors.

Household furnishings dominate most of the area - the sort of things a wealthy noble might possess. Included are two big beds, couches, tables, chairs, chests and so forth; a desk, several workbenches; paraphernalia and apparatus of ecclesiastical, magical, and alchemical sort; cases and shelves packed with reading material, and containers that undoubtedly hold material for spells and experiments; crates, ceramic jugs, and jars, weapons and antique armor, normal clothing, and ceremonial garb. An incredible, mond-boggling array!

The whitewashed walls show extensive inscriptions of religious and possibly magical sorts, with pictures and small glyphs indicating voluminous narration and pronouncements. Oddly, there is no disernible focus of evil nature.

There are three stone doors along each wall, and one on the far end of the room. Flanking each door to the left and right are pairs of man-sized statues. These depict people who are probably ancient slave-warriors, clad in leather armor with horn and metal trimmings. One of each pair is armed with a big club and a tall wooden bow, the other has a club, spear, and tower shield. All the statues are painted and adorned with real feathers, appearing most lifelike.

Kherim hears something of the exchanges between Sol and Eilkhan below, and even lends a hand to the warrior adjusting the stones beneath the adamantite bars. Then he turns to Ahi and Elmo and says

"we're probably more needed below than here. Let's go."
He goes down and proceeds up to the room, until where he deems it is safe to go and relying on the others' advice too.

Sol will observe from the staircase, looking for anything unexpected to happen. He has his sword drawn and he is using it to cast a detect magic spell of the room ahead of him.

Ahi will proceed downstairs as well. He will be ready to heal if anything happens the
resident rogue or anyone else.

Eilkhan will come back and relate her findings. "I'd like to get closer to the floor somehow to see where the trap floor ends, but I think it best if we leave this room for now. NO need to get injured or killed just beacuase of a silly room."

Sol replies "We have come this far. I think that we need to check out this chamber. I expect the guardians by the doors to come alive when we trigger them, but I still think we should go in and investigate the various doors that leave the room, even if there is nothing in the room that we are interested in..."

"Well, I agree with Sol. But we have several tactical problems here, and common sense dictates that we should engage on a battle only when we have all the advantages. Let me enumerate them:
there are seven doors, each of them a possible avenue for new enemies; at least a dozen statues that may come alive, and despite all we've done so far, or perhaps learning from that, 12 seems too many for us to handle; and most importantly, we don't know if we can safely walk into the room and fight there. Despite your efforts, Sol, we don't know if we'll be able to retreat if the eventual trap is triggered.

Given all of this, I might be persuaded to check the upper level first, and come down here only when we've found something more about this room or have no other way to go."

Gaderon double checking the tightness of his boots makes sure to listen as the others discuss the path that they all should take. Some of Kherims logic is sound but they should not shy away from any room due to danger. Still he does not speak up and decides that exploring the previous passages would perhaps be a more efficent use of their time... He waits for the others to decide to act, having no issue with heading down this path if need be, but wishing to piece together the situation before speaking.
