The Wayfarer's Inn

Sol says "Go ahead and open the coffer." while trying to prepare himself for whatever might be about to happen. He will use his sword to do a detect magic spell on it.

Eilkhan approaches the last coffer and looks for booby traps and surprises. Once done she will see how it opens and attempt to open it.

The coffer opens easily. It's full to the brim with ancient gold and silver coins and gems. There also seem to be a few pieces of jewelry in between.

After picking her jaw from the floor, Eilkahn tells everyone about the booty. As usual she places it in her bag of holding for safe keeping for everyone. Though she is a thief, the party all know the exact amount of treasure she is holding for everyone and makes sure everyone sees every treasure they find.

Gaderon is sort of relieved to see the simple treasures in the coffer and simply nods assuming that however the skilled rogue and dungeon delver decides to divide it will be fair. As the others speak of moving forward he begins to look around coming to his own decison on how he feels. "I say that we now head down the paths that presented themselves first, so as to leave all of it well explored behind us! I want this done, but right so as to not have to return because we missed some vital point..."

Ivid has been way too busy checking for Elmo to take a look at the booty, at least so far.

If Kherim had the time to use healing magic, however, Ivid's face will lighten up, and he will
secretly vow to their companion some good as soon as the situaion presents itself.

As usual, Ivid will stay in the back of the party, helping Elmo to walk, and checking for anything suspicious outside
his friends' immediate focus...

As you leave the chamber, you all are in for a nasty surprise.

Materializing out of thin air directly above the open pit on the intersection is the human-headed vulture thing that escaped you after you freed it from the mural in the Foyer of the Dark Duat. Before one of you can react, a blast of dark energy hits you, draining 1 point of Wisdom from each of you. With this assault comes a croaking, disgusting mental voice, saying:

"Jackals! Festering piles of dung fit for scarabs to feed on in the sun! You are in the realm of Gloomy Dark, so to Rahotep's command now hark. Call upon His might, speak great His name, and you can yet win this deadly game. For each of you there now awaits a place of power behind Re-Stau's gates, or a throne and palace in Pharaoh's land if with Evil you take your stand."

It then flaps its ugly wings as if it awaits an answer from you.

Ivid grins broadly, takes out an arrow, waves to Sol,
and then points to the pointy end of the arrow, and to the flying demon.

As if shaking clear of the energy to clear his thoughts Gaderon straightens, and looks slightly up at the horrid little thing... He waits for another to get it's attention and then begins to mumble and speak the words to a spell while trying to not draw attention to his actions.

(OOC: Forcecage trying to capture it! If Gaderon is aware of any way it could escape he might not consider this action at which he will then use magic missle to drive it from the room. He however does not act until he believes the creature is listening to someone else!)

Sol says "Isn't this where I came in?" He pulls back the spear in his left hand and throws it at the vulture with all his might. If it remains over the pit or moves away, he will pull out his bow and try using arrows. If it approaches he will draw his dagger with his left hand (already holding his sword in his right), prepared to hack at it...
