Sol answers "Perhaps, if we press the same button again, it will close the entrance to the stairwell?" As he speaks, he moves around to the area of the shrine with his sword in his right hand and spear in his left, trying to be prepared as much as possible for whatever surprises this chamber still holds for us.

Kherim looks at Sol and nods. "You're probably right." Seeing everyone else already in the chamber, he presses the button again.

Pressing the same button again yields no result.

Is it possible to determine how the door opened in the first place? I mean, was it the result of some mechanical action that 'might' be reversed? Kherim is not really interested in pressing the other button just yet.

Gaderon watches the back and forth... While looking over the shrine from a close but in his eyes safe distance.

"Then perhaps we should test the other button, but it is possible that the ancient mechanics of the door have broken... Still having the door open to my back is not so much a worry that I mind it that much!"

"Maybe the other button closes the stairwell. Here, let me try." Eilkhan moves a fair distance away and borrows the spear once more. "As before maybe everyone should step out in case there's a trap."

When everyone is in fact out, she presses the other button with the spear, ready for anything.

Sol cringes and moves out of the room with the others, while drawing his dagger in his left hand to replace the spear...

Kherim looks intently, ready to jump to defend Eilkhan should anything arrive when she presses the button.

After pressing the button another secret door suddenly appears in the pillar, but on the opposite side. This one is very small, a panel of only 2' height. Behind it lies a small compartment that holds four bronze rings of verdigris hue and four dark iron bracelets.

Sol reenters the room looking carefully at the shrine before moving up behind Eilkhan to get a better view of the rings and bracelets. He will cast a detect magic spell on them using his sword's powers.

[OOC: If Eilkhan returns the spear, he will sheath the dagger and resume holding the spear in his left hand.]
