OOC: Ron, I still need to know whether Ahi wants to cast any spell or if he wants to attack while retreating to the double doors.

And Rafe: Although you didn't mention it in your post, I suppose that Elmo and Ivid also start retreating while fending off the mummies - they don't want to be left alone in the foyer, do they? :)

OOC: It should be noted that like Sol, Kherim is standing his ground before the doors holding off the mummies and will not himself make a fighting retreat until all the others have passed. Likely he and Sol will be backing up together through the doors ;)

No worries! I know that some of my spells (in particular) are going to be affected in some way down here.

But anyway, the rod does d8+3 damage

http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/1758293/

That's a whopping 7 hp of damage, unless of course they ARE golems.... :D

And with the +3 to hit, that makes my 19 a 22! So here's hoping they are golems or some creature from the Outer Planes.

Round 2

The party loses initiative this round and slowly starts retreating into the burial chamber beyond the double doors, all the while attacking the iron mummies who follow them of course.

Eilkhan retreats into the burial chamber but gets hit once more by mummy #12 for 8 points of damage. While retreating, she stabs at the mummy with her shortsword, and this time she has better luck and manages to cut through the iron bones for 7 points of damage.

Kherim holds his ground as long as possible, waiting until the rest of the group safely gets through the doors. The iron fists of mummies #1 and 2 hit him badly this time. Two attacks penetrate his defense and he loses another 27 points of damage. The first of his three attacks this round causes mummy #2 to collapse. As it falls to the ground, it fragments into hundreds of tiny pieces of metal that transform into slivers of bone even before they hit the ground. His two other attacks both hit mummy #3 for a total of 25 points of damage.

Gaderon successfully retreats into the burial chamber as does Asterion, who is hit once by mummy #4 for 8 points of damage. In return, his battle axe hits the mummy for 8 points of damage.

Ahi swings his Uas rod at the mummy in front of him. As it hits the mummy, a thunderclap rolls through the chamber, and in a flash of white light the thing is completely destroyed (1 charge is drained from the rod). OOC: Perhaps Ahi doesn't want to retreat completely, now that he knows that the iron mummies are golems... I've put him between Kherim and Sol for now. If you prefer him to be in the room itself, however, then he did go there and I'll move him there next round, okay?

Ivid and Elmo hurry backwards towards the double doors, changing places to get Elmo there first. This doesn't stop the mummies from attacking of course, and Elmo gets hit by two iron fists while retreating, taking 19 points of damage, whereas his own attack misses (rolled a 7). Ivid now faces three iron mummies who attack him mercilessly and hit three times for a total of 24 points of damage. Ivid's own attacks both hit mummy #9 (rolled a 16 and 19)for 16 points of damage.

Finally Sol and Kherim (plus perhaps Ahi) also retreat into the burial chamber. His two attackers club successfully at Sol and hit him twice for 12 points of damage. Sol's first two attacks finish off mummy #1 which collapses into a heap of bone. Mummy #11 is hit for 9 points of damage.

Sol will attack mummy #12 this time with two blows. If he kills #12 he will advance a little and if possible continue the attack on mummy #11. The rolls were: 17/14 and 11/7.

Nope, Ahi is placed perfectly on the map, "not undead huh," Ahi says angrily, "not a big fan of golems either!" Though he still says a silent prayer to Neith for the thunderclap flashy thing.

Ahi takes a poke at Number 4 - 1d20+3.

A 22! Cool, hope nobody's hit him yet. If the lucky rolls happen, now is certainly a good time.

I'm assuming I don't even have to roll damage again, but just in case 2d8+6:

Wow, invisiblecastle loves me today - 18 damage.

Hope that's another charge gone!

Kherim staggers under the brutal pummeling of the iron mummies but continues to fight on as he calls to Sol and Ahi, "Let them come to us my friends, do not advance into them! Within the narrow confines of the door they are limited in their numbers!"

OOC: Kherim definately looks hurt but he will try to hold his point just beyond the doors hoping that this strategy will not allow the mummies to use all their numbers. I am assuming only 2 or 3 at any one time can fit in the open doorway.

Rolls to-hit and damage for mummy #3: 8/11, 7/8 (not so good this round)

Ahi nods to Kherim acknowledging his greater expertise in these matters, and thanking Neith that there's no reason to advance into the enemy. Ahi is used to a more supporting role, but realizes the importance his rod plays against these golems. "Are you okay?" He asks Kherim after a quick look while defending the doorway leaves him concerned.

OOC: I think I'm the only cleric? Somebody may be multiclassed, but I wasn't sure. How many hits you got left? It's better to keep you up and running than to count on me continuing to roll (luckily adjusted counts) 20+ on attacks. And shoot, forgot to add my +1 to hit!

Clarence do we have 14 rounds left to +1 to hit and +1 to saves?
