Round 2The party wins initiative as the mummies are closing in to melee range.
Ahi casts
Prayer, which easily covers the whole room with its effect, giving you another +1 to all your attack rolls and STs. You notice that the mummies don't seem to be affected by it. After casting the spell, Ahi reaches for his
Uas rod.
Eilkhan is in for a bad surprise as she attacks her opponent. Her well-placed blow hits the mummy, but her blade doesn't penetrate the iron that it is made of. She can't say whether this is because the magic of the sword isn't strong enough or she needs to hit even better.
Sol moves back from the door a few steps, all the while attacking mummy #1. Only his second attack hits this time though, for another 12 points of damage (one more because of the
prayer spell). Still not enough for that mummy.
Kherim also only hits once this round (the mummies' iron bodies are incredibly hard) for another 13 points of damage, which still isn't enough for the thing. He guesses though that it won't survive another hit like this one.
Elmo is very lucky to hit mummy #7 again with his axe (rolled an 18 for him) for 12 more points of damage, while protecting Ivid as much as he can from the mummies, which means that he draws the attention of
three of those monsters on himself.
Ivid manages to change his weapons just in time before the mummies approach him. There's still time for him to attack once with his scimitar, and he hits (rolled a 20)! His blade cuts into mummy #9 for 8 points of damage.
Asterion pushes a button on his
rod of lordly might and changes the item into a powerful battle axe. He swings the axe at mummy #4, but misses (rolled an 8).
Gaderon is the only one in the party that isn't attacked by an iron mummy. Since his staff is long enough to strike from the second rank, he strikes at mummy #10 and hits (rolled a 20) for 5 points of damage.
OOC: Since you didn't provide die rolls, Rafe and Mark, I suppose that it's okay for you when I roll instead. The numbers that I mention include all bonusses (weapons, spells, strength, specialization). I will never tell you what the attack rolls of the monsters are though... Finally the mummies attack you with a whirlwind of iron fists, having two attacks each. Mummy #12 strikes at Eilkhan and hits her once for 9 points of damage.
Mummies #2 and 3 both attack Kherim and hit him three times for a total of 24 points of damage.
Mummy #4 attacks Asterion and misses.
Mummies #5 and 9 attack Ivid and hit him three times for a total of 23 points of damage.
Mummies #6, 7 and 8 attack Elmo and hit him three times for a total of 16 points of damage.
Mummy #10 attacks Ahi and hits him twice for a total of 21 points of damage.
Mummies #1 and 11 attack Sol and hit him only once for 11 points of damage.
You realize that these killers are beating the shit out of you in a most effective way. Who knows what they would have been able to do would they still have the iron lotus flowers in their hands....
OOC: Please state your intentions for round 3. I would be most happy if you could include all bonusses into your die rolls (specialization and prayer spell effect too) since that makes it a lot easier for me. Thanks a lot.
