The Wayfarer's Inn

[OOC: Rafael asked me to keep playing Ivid, so I will do another post for him, as well.]

Seeing the flying creature, Ivid says "Elmo, there's trouble!" Then he lets loose with a magic arrow and draws another one prepared to continue shooting, if necessary.

Suddenly, Ivid's face seems to twist. Something... Childish and malicious enters his face.

"It's in moments like this that I feel all myself again, friends..."

Hi folks, I am back!

None of your weapons seem to do any harm to the malign-visaged vulture as it is obviously insubstantial: Arrows fly harmlessly through it as do the blades of Kherim, Sol and Elmo. The only visible effect is left by the spells of Asterion and Gaderon which cause a kind of strange ripple running through the thing similar as caused by a pebble when tossed into water.

As it flies off, half through the door opening and half through the solid rock, a croaking voice speaks - but whether aloud or in your brains, none can be sure:

"Do what you will, mortal jackals, defilers of tombs! My great Khu is loosed by your bungling, nevermore to be imprisoned in stone! I will return to collect a reckoning from each of you when the memory is ripe!"

And then the voice fades. Elmo sees how it flies out of the tomb entrance and out into the night.

Kherim lowers his blade as he watches the entity depart, his face troubled. "This bodes ill my friends, I think we may have loosed a great evil upon the world." Turning then to look back at the inner door from which sprang the nightmarish visage, "Be that as it may, perhaps we may yet foil the necromancer's prophesy. Let us continue into his lair and put an end at least to these cursed items we carry."

"Agreed," says Ahi, "we kill him, we end the woe that his khu will cause." Ahi prepares to follow Kherim.

OOC: Have we talked marching order at all? Do we need to?

OOC: Probably a good idea we do. I would suggest our thief in front and Kherim second as he can absorb a good deal of damage, turn undead and IC he'd insist on being upfront.

Now that the plaster has fallen off, the double doors are clearly visible. They are made of solid wood and are still locked with a padlock on a silver chain that formerly looked as if it was the skeleton's belt.

Sol looks around at the group, still holding his sword, and says "I'm Sol, the Archpriest, Shemsi Neteru-f, thought I could be of assistance to you and sent me to your aid. I would be happy to be up near the front of your marching column..."

Sol will fall in where ever it seems appropriate with the group. Perhaps beside Kherim.
