There are no traps within detection range, and Ahi moves further on towards the archway. It is made of natural sandstone, hewn smooth, but unpainted. Hieroglyphs overhead the archway read: Now do you Abandon all Hope Beyond the arch lies a corridor, made of dark stone, and lined with pillars that seem to be ablaze with flickering dark flames that shed a rusty red glow. The smell of brimstone is stronger here, intermixed with scents of heated metal and foul stenches of other sorts. Warm air streams out of the archway, indicating a higher temperature within the corridor. Even farther beyond, a great hall with more pillars can be seen, and a large throne of amethyst hue on which a dark figure is seated. Kherim notices an aura of total evil, malevolence, and lurking perils that permeates the whole area beyond the arch. OOC: See the new map for the layout of the area. |

Kherim goes "uh oh" and tells the others: "I think this is it, friends. If that is not our quarry, then it's as malefic a creature as it can be, a scion of evil itself. Perhaps a demon of some sorts. I'd say that corridor is a veritable entrance to hell. Let's hope it has not seen us yet." |

Sol asks "How do we want to take him on? What weapons can we take advantage of?" |

"I think we'll have to bring our best magic against it, as well as our best weapons too. But the deed itself of entering that blazing corridor may be a challenge. We should lure him out here, if we could." says Ahi. "And perhaps we should review our list of spells too." |

OOC: I think it is a giant hand and it can attack, grab and smash. Sir C can correct me if I am wrong. Haste is a good spell for all of us. I think it gives us an extra attack each, but ages the spellcaster one year in 1E. Eilkhan has her ring of invisibility and plans to use it. |

1st Edition sure was nasty, damn it! Anyway, any fire based spell is probably useless here. I think you should try to get Banishment on your list (that's level 7). It may be good for all of use to review spells indeed. |
