Round 1Party Initiative: 2
Mummies' Initiative: 3 Inside the narrow passage, the foremost mummy-zombie jumps at
Kherim, attacking him with teeth and nails. Both of its razor sharp talons hit the paladin, for a total of 17 points of damage.
Swinging back at it, Kherim's scimitar slices open the parchment-like skin of the thing, cutting through through brittle bones and flesh alike. All three attacks are hits, for a total of 30 points of damage. The force of the blows would have been enough to throw down every mortal opponent, but the undead creature remains on its feet and presses on. Luckily, the passageway is too narrow for the others behind it to attack as well.
Raising the holy symbol of Neith, the crown and the longbow,
Ahi tries to turn the mummy-zombies in front of them, but they turn out to be too strong here in this evil place. None of them retreats.
Outside, in the large hall, the mummies attack as well. As they close in, a noticeable aura of dread and despair can be felt by Sol, Gaderon, and Eilkhan.
(OOC: Please make a ST vs magic for Gaderon and Sol, Greg. The +3 bonus from Gaderon's magic ring can be applied here)Two of them attack
Sol, each with a single powerful blow with one of their bandaged fists. The one to his left hits the warrior, and even though the hit wasn't too strong (9 points of damage), Sol strangely feels slightly dizzy afterwards.
(OOC: The hit of the mummy has drained him of 1 point of his Wisdom score! Hopefully not permanently....)Eilkhan is attacked by only one mummy, which scores a hit with the same effect that Sol experienced (1 point of wisdom lost and 12 points of damage)
While trying to retreat and switch places with Ivid and Elmo,
Gaderon is attacked by three of these monsters, but the mage is very well protected magically, and can fend of all three attacks.
Missing with his staff, Gaderon then quickly retreats and makes room for
Ivid and
Elmo who attack with scimitar and battle axe, but before
Ivid can even raise his blade, the dreadful aura of the mummy grabs him and he stands rooted to the spot, paralyzed with fear and unable to attack....
Luckily,
Elmo seems to be immune to that magic, and both attacks by the stout warrior hit, but he faces the problem that comes up every time when you battle mummies: Their thick and sticky bandages make them resistant to blows, and so his damage is significantly reduced.
Attacking with Tizona,
Sol sees that the sword's qualities against undead are there, but the damage (all three attacks are hits) is reduced to a total of 18 due to the mummy's resistance)
Lighting her torch with Tizona's flames,
Eilkhan turns to attack the mummy that rushes at her, but then gets overwhelmed by the aura of despair that sweeps over her. Standing paralyzed like Ivid, Eilkhan is unable to move due to her fear.
(OOC: I was using your provided roll list, Steve, and the one at the top was a 2....)
