Of course, everything takes place as anticipated. Running in between the skeleton inlays activates these monsters for the second time, making them step out of the mosaics and arranging themselves in ranks behind you. All the while, the acid-filled clay pots are dropping from the ceiling. You all barely manage to escape the bombardement before the whole middle row of the hall is filled with the caustic fumes and liquids.

The moment you enter the side aisle, the six sarcophagi open up, and you are assailed by mummies who rapidly come forth from them. These horrid things - bandage-wrapped corpses with glowing, malevolent eyes visible where the linen wrappings have fallen away - growl and groan hollowly as they come closer with clubbed fists. These things are terrible, and your party is caught between them and the hall of acid-filled pots behind.

The only chance of escape might be the 5' hallway to the left, lying between the 3 mummies advancing from ahead, and the three coming from the left. If you move fast enough.... But you must decide quickly!

Sol will move against the zombie just ahead and to his right as he approaches the corredor. He will fight with his sword, Tizona, against these things holding that side while the others pass into the corridor.

Gaderon charge into the zombies on the left side of the passage entrance using his shield spell to try to block them from preventing the rest of the party from reaching the corridor.

Hopefully, Sol and Gaderon can protect the flanks of the party as they head into the corridor. Assuming that the rest of the party make it into the corridor, they will then follow, otherwise they will hold their positions and try to fend off the zombies while the others go through the gap.

Ahi and Kherim run fast into the corridor, if possible.
If there's open flames around (torches or similar) Kherim will try to take one.

OOC: I seem to recall mummies don't like fire

While Sol and Gaderon move to block the advancing mummies from their friends, and Eilkhan lights a torch at Tizona's flames, Kherim and the others hurry into the narrow corridor. As they go along the passageway some four or five paces, they are set upon by a handful of dreadful, taloned mummies that stood lurking in a 10-foot by 15-foot alcove to the left. These mummies aren't bandaged but of the desiccated type, with skin like dark leather stretched tightly over their bones.

OOC: Round 1 is coming up. Please state your intentions, and note that it's impossible to fight side by side in the narrow corridor.

Ahi reacts instinctively, trying to turn the new mummies away. Kherim takes his scimitar with all his strength and strikes at the nearest one.

3 attacks:

1d20+6 = 14,10,14

Don't thikn these are good enough, but here goes for damage:
1d8+7 = 8,8,14

Gaderon glances behind him at the others and then says "Ivid, Elmo, take out the one on my right! Can one of you replace me in the front line, so I can use my spells?"

With that he uses his staff of power to melee with the mummy on his immediate left, using a charge to double the damage.

Gaderon has one attack: 12/8

Sol will attack the mummy to his left as he faces the attacking mummies (from the top of the image).

Sol has three attacks (to hit/damage): 20/11, 18/16, 11/10

After using her torch as a weapon, Eilkhan tosses an oil flask on a mummy, hoping to make it explode and perhaps burn another nearby.

Round 1

Party Initiative: 2
Mummies' Initiative: 3

Inside the narrow passage, the foremost mummy-zombie jumps at Kherim, attacking him with teeth and nails. Both of its razor sharp talons hit the paladin, for a total of 17 points of damage.

Swinging back at it, Kherim's scimitar slices open the parchment-like skin of the thing, cutting through through brittle bones and flesh alike. All three attacks are hits, for a total of 30 points of damage. The force of the blows would have been enough to throw down every mortal opponent, but the undead creature remains on its feet and presses on. Luckily, the passageway is too narrow for the others behind it to attack as well.

Raising the holy symbol of Neith, the crown and the longbow, Ahi tries to turn the mummy-zombies in front of them, but they turn out to be too strong here in this evil place. None of them retreats.

Outside, in the large hall, the mummies attack as well. As they close in, a noticeable aura of dread and despair can be felt by Sol, Gaderon, and Eilkhan. (OOC: Please make a ST vs magic for Gaderon and Sol, Greg. The +3 bonus from Gaderon's magic ring can be applied here)

Two of them attack Sol, each with a single powerful blow with one of their bandaged fists. The one to his left hits the warrior, and even though the hit wasn't too strong (9 points of damage), Sol strangely feels slightly dizzy afterwards. (OOC: The hit of the mummy has drained him of 1 point of his Wisdom score! Hopefully not permanently....)

Eilkhan is attacked by only one mummy, which scores a hit with the same effect that Sol experienced (1 point of wisdom lost and 12 points of damage)

While trying to retreat and switch places with Ivid and Elmo, Gaderon is attacked by three of these monsters, but the mage is very well protected magically, and can fend of all three attacks.

Missing with his staff, Gaderon then quickly retreats and makes room for Ivid and Elmo who attack with scimitar and battle axe, but before Ivid can even raise his blade, the dreadful aura of the mummy grabs him and he stands rooted to the spot, paralyzed with fear and unable to attack....

Luckily, Elmo seems to be immune to that magic, and both attacks by the stout warrior hit, but he faces the problem that comes up every time when you battle mummies: Their thick and sticky bandages make them resistant to blows, and so his damage is significantly reduced.

Attacking with Tizona, Sol sees that the sword's qualities against undead are there, but the damage (all three attacks are hits) is reduced to a total of 18 due to the mummy's resistance)

Lighting her torch with Tizona's flames, Eilkhan turns to attack the mummy that rushes at her, but then gets overwhelmed by the aura of despair that sweeps over her. Standing paralyzed like Ivid, Eilkhan is unable to move due to her fear. (OOC: I was using your provided roll list, Steve, and the one at the top was a 2....)

OCC: Sol's ST: 5 Gaderon's ST: 17

Sol will continue to fight the same zombie (2 attacks): 20/14, 23/10

Gaderon will attempt to cast a fireball at the zombies attacking Ivid.
