Though th project itself will be purely megalomaniacal, since I highly doubt that I will ever play such a campaign out, I think the setting will be useful for me, as this *Sandpoint* could perfectly fit as a city in Dave Arneson's Great Kingdom. |

Just got some newsletter from Paizo, where it is said that the Games Mastery line and the Pathfinder series will explicitely be set in a new game world, called Varisia. Now, I am really not interested in any new setting, so PF's worth to my campaign will highly depend on how the emphasis on this new setting is implented. Generic city + generic plot works for me, but no *hey, we sell you a whole new setting* stuff... |

I'm thinking it'll be like Goodman's DCCs where they now have a world, but you don't need it to run their adventures. However this looks to be some pretty great stuff, so it should be a good remaining 2007 for Paizo. ShaneG. |

I think it will be generic D&D world. Then piece by piece and adventure by adventure it will make a new world. I mean: There will be names for mountains, cities, rivers etc that you won't find in FR or Grayhawk etc. However that doesn't mean that the game won't be for these campaign settings, it just means that the authors cannot be bothered (and I agree with them) with what is cannon in FR or Grayhawk. For example, they may need in the course of the campaign to trash a metropolis without asking permission to destroy Silverymoon, Waterdeep, Neverwinter etc from the FR line. |
